Looks like some great crawling terrain!

It's right up there with one of the best spots we have to offer within a reasonable drive. You push to an hour & half and you can unlock some sweet granite.

I may make a trip out there before the summer is up.

I have yet to find a really good spot like that within an hours drive. Everything in this state is fenced off. I am jealous.

I certainly feel blessed with what we have access to here locally.

That quarry used to be the Wild West and I was totally here for it. It's now been developed by the community so they have cleared some areas and installed walking paths.

The big negative is they have recently started locking the gates so you cannot get down there unless you have a quad or side by side.

You'll notice in today's videos when you see vehicles they're topside. My videos from last year I had my truck in the bottom with me.

After spending the day there I have my suspicions that's one of the reasons the event date was moved. You most likely have to request access or perhaps people are intending to bring alternate transportation to get supplies to the opposite side of the quarry.

Hey Folks!

I have a question for you all..

I am struggling with a place to start putting up time sheets, plaques and or trophies. I know it's ambitious, but I think I'll podium a few more times

So far I just have these two things from crawling:

I hav a few trophies from racing but they're packed away somewhere

So I have two ideas;

Start filling in the blank spots on the wall?

Or start a new collage on the side I work on?

Sorry for the mess.
I have the exhaust fan out because I was painting those wheels this week.

So I am thinking under the Ferrari posters or by the shelves where the charger setup is.

I want to put them in plastic to help preserve them and keep them clean.

For hanging them, the paper I'll just use push pins or something. The 3d printed trophy might need a few holes to hang it up. Or some of those velcro 3M strips.

What do you think?

Get yourself a sheet of acrylic or lexan, and attach everything to it. This allows you to move it if need be, while keeping it all together.

My wife has a glass door wall box that she has all her race medals and bibs in. It's handy, but you can't really see individual things.

I like your idea of getting a piece of poster board or something, it's just harder for me to incorporate something like that versus individual pieces.

Maybe a binder for time sheets?

That might make my life easier going forward.

Man, I don't know if this guy knows how much damage he is doing to his group.

The out of province people and others who have a work days drive and book accommodations are absolutely furious.

Should have probably edited out "The wait is over" & "First outdoor comp of 2026"

That was my thought too.
Like pushing it two weeks out and then two weeks out again, like what are you hoping is going to happen here?

I almost said it last time but someone else said it this time, open the indoor center if you don't want to battle the elements.

It also doesn't have AC but you could run fans and be out of the sun.

I gave them the benefit of the doubt that they needed to secure shade (canopies) but even that wasn't a part of the discussion.

The two other sponsors went on and backed him up on their personal FB accounts but I don't think they understand the brand damage that has been done. You have broken trust with the community.

If it was extreme weather or risk of an extreme weather event I get it. But it's summer, you want to host an outdoor event, this is what it is.

I messaged a friend of mine who races like 5 days a week. He said they setup canopies in parking lots for their series, he doesn't get it. He also comps too and the two of us have a ton of cash into our rigs, we want to run them. We also want to get the memes going back and forth again. Lol

I agree. Set up tents, get an inflatable water mist station, provide plenty of ice water.

Sell lots of ice cream and sun screen!!!

If its too hot, some ppl surely won't go. But lots of ppl do have canopies and have done summer rc events in the past, are well prepared for heat.

Just curious, what is considered 'very hot' in Canada?
Is that when ice starts melting, ppl panic?!

If the event is in the middle of a bad heatwave, I can see postponing for safety. Postponing each event because its not 80° with a light breeze 'perfect weather' is no good.

Is this a new venue? Maybe they need a little time to figure out what their customers want?

Summer tends to get hotter in August, not a lot of logic going on there. I understand your frustration. If people can't make plans it's hard to get them to be regulars.

I 100% agree with your post. Hot for us here is usually 30+ (85+f), the humidity is the killer though. Our weather here is similar to the Dakotas.

For me I have spent the majority of my adult life working outside so I am used to adapting to it.

Which is what I reference when I say brand damage. We count on these guys to come out, they add zest to an event. One is an Exo Team driver, we want those guys to travel here.
