Installed the new portal covers, and did some quick driving in the yard. These make a big difference!! There was a light rotational sound the first couple feet, but it immediately went away and all seems normal. Gonna try and make some time for real testing tomorrow. Looking forward to Sunday!

Thank you! Got a buddy who is supposed to be showing to hang out and watch....am bringing a scx24 for him to try on the mini course....he doesn't yet realize he is being recruited, lol
There was a comp at my LHS yesterday but I couldn't make it due to a previous commitment. My buddy went, pretty sure he got first place. Should know results later today

Good stuff, what class is he in?
It was 1:24 scale, and our shop doesn't do classes, yet.
They do a consistency comp. Everyone does 3 runs through the same course. You get points for hitting gates, tips, reverses, etc...and it's factored in with your time. Then all 3 runs are compared to see how consistent you were. The lower the deviation, the better. He has the highest score so far, at like 97% or so consistent. They do the same system for 1:10, but on an outside course
He did say they kinda changed the scoring yesterday, with the score now being a low number. He got a 1.27, which I am guessing is the deviation?
But this allows for having one, smaller course that you don't have to come up with 3 separate lines for. So a stock rig can compete with a fully built rig on the same course

Here's the official explanation - https://rcaddict.com/blogs/news/consistency-crawler-competitions-small-scale-10th-scale

My buddy showed up today...his indoctrination has begun. It does seem like he was more into the go fast carpet buggies and such as a first vehicle....but he was thinking about picking something up so it's probably already too late for him. He did seem to have a good time running the c10 scx24 around the mini crawler course, and is into some local trailing sometime soon.
