Well as you guys know, the mad scientist has been back in the lab this week working on the crawler. I have been super swamped (pun intended, super swamped... super swamper) at work this week, and haven't had a lot of time to get ready for my upcoming comp. Of course, I was not about to show up at the comp having another green axial just like the other 35 guys, so I've been hard at work doing away with all things green, as well as bringing down the center of gravity, tuning the suspension, wheels and tires, etc...

I'll have a lot more pics up in a little while, but I thought a teaser shot was only appropriate.

More pics to come shortly!

Looks fantastic and I like the red much better than the standard green. I'm guessing that is another Axial rig?

Yeap, that's my first axial that I built, I've just been working on it. I'm still gather parts for my comp rig, and I'm not going to start on it until I have most of the parts. The third rig that I just happened to run across for such a good deal is scheduled for delivery today, and I will use it to take people crawling with me and introduce them to the sport.

hey watch your language in here lol. It's the STRC. I was able to get one of the first kits as soon as they shipped them. Axial is releasing a similar kit, but STRC beat them to the punch and I didn't want to wait on the axial, and the STRC is really good stuff.

I also have an orange kit waiting for my comp build.

UPDATE: I've got everything buttoned up and got the body mounted, all that's left to do is dismount 2 sets of beadlocks and remount another set of beadlocks and I'll be done. And all you guys sitting around whining about have to mount beadlocks with 6 screws, just wait till you get multiple sets with 10 screws each.

hey charlie, i do powdercoating at home for a hobby, if you pay for the powder and shipping, ill do the work, that goes for any other members
i also have a sweet polishing station

I tell you one thing, polishing the washers on this thing was a night mare because it was so hard to helo them and polish them lol. They're only about a quarter inch, and the sit between the lower shock mount and the lower links. That was one of the only pieces that wasn't included in the color conversion kit, and when I left them green it looked like a Christmas elf, so I had to polish them. I'm definitely interested in having you do some powdercoating, and I would want to at least pay you something for your time. I'm trying to figure out how I want to powdercoat the baja. The work on timahh's hooter's mobile is amazing.

yes charlie, thats how u make one original...looks very good from what i can see right now....i await more pics.

Well since it's taken so long to get the tires done (had to go run some errands), I'll throw up a few more pictures. Don't mind the green wheel hexes, I have black ones on the way to replace them, so I didn't want to spend the time polishing them just to replace them tomorrow. I've gotta go to work on those with the dremel when the new ones get here so they'll fit regular aluminum beadlocks.

did you the truck brushlessboy bought from me? i powdercoated all the red on that
and i can send you some pics of other stuff I've done, like i said i do it for a hobby, i have all professional equip though

It's really late, or actually really early in the morning, so I'll get some better pics up tomorrow. This will give you the idea though. I took a few with the comp body and a few with the full size body. The full size body looks good, but it would have to be trimmed to poop to get it low enough to comp with, so it's just going to be on one of my crawlers that I relax with. The 72 Chevy body is actually for my comp build coming up, that's why it's orange. I have one of the brand new Axial XC-1 bodies on the way that's red to match the chassis.
