Hobby grade chargers are as fast as you want them to be, depending on how many amps you charge at. I charge all mine at 1C, because as nything higher than that can damage the batteries in some cases. 1C means s 5000 mAh batter is charged at 5A. A 3500 mAh battery would be charged at 3.5A.Looking at getting back into rc cars. Completely new to these new lipo batteries. What batteries and chargers should i look for and where? Also are the new chargers all fast chargers? Thanks
Looking at the granite 3s , rival mt10 or a traxxas stampede.Batteries come in many sizes now. It is best to look at chargers after you have narrowed down what kind of RC you want to run. That will determine what size of batteries and charger you need.
A charger may charge a small battery quickly but take all day for a larger one. It eventually come down to what you want to spend vs how long you want to wait.
Then you also have to consider if you will go larger later.
A small crawler battery as opposed to a 6s or 8s cell for a 1/8th scale are 2 very different charging needs.
Another thing you'll have to look at with batteries would be different connectors, which probably goes without saying but it's something to look out forLooking at the granite 3s , rival mt10 or a traxxas stampede.
The MT10 might be the best design, but it‘s definitely lacking in the electronics department. The Granite 3s is a great truck, it’s super strong out of the box. Traxxas RCs definitely need some upgrades out of the box.Looking at the granite 3s , rival mt10 or a traxxas stampede.
Electric is much easier than nitro, LiPos are a lot less scary than they seem. All this lipo battery stuff makes me want to look at nitro power again.. even though my last one i had sucked
When you overcharged a batterie and don't use it... Don't keep a lipo batterie at 80%. In my case, I keep them at 33-36% (storage mode).when do i use my discharge feature on my charger?
The discharge feature - I never use it. The only thing I ever use is the charge and storage modes. Storage mode will discharge your battery down if the battery is above that setting. But yeah, if you aren't going to use your batteries right away, storage charge them. All right, i just want to make sure i got the charging and care figured out. Always balance charge, if battery is not going to be used in 48hrs i need to put it in storage mode.. when do i use my discharge feature on my charger?
