Ah, bummer. I can hardly see my stock spur.

RANDY!!! Hey! Randy!

Well, that's the 58T installed and the mest is near perfect with the engine as far away as possible. I'll have to use a smaller C/B to use 2 larger spurs. As far as I can tell, the c/b and spur roll very smooth together so I'd say the tooth cut is perfect. I got the center driveshafts installed as well. I needed to do a tad bit of grinding on the cross pins of the shafts so they are a bit more smooth in the outdrives you made. I still have some binding but I believe I've narrowed it down to my brakes. I think I need to shave brake piston down maybe 1/2mm. This thing looks STOUT from the underside.

Stout... dude that's a beast!! you guys(rolex lessen) and everyone here really motivate me. I have ordered enough parts this week to buy at least 2 and a half t-maxxes and I'm not done I think I have a problem help

Randy, I've got to get that box of parts to you so you can do my radio cover.
Looking at that bronze spur is making me drool. I just can't let the new kid out-bling me.

I dont' know Ralph. I think the Savage is way more bling than my Maxx. However, I dont' think there's any doubt that the Maxx is more bashworthy. I know yours is a Savage and all, but the bigger (heavier) the are... the harder they fall.

wait, do you have to oil the tranny now that its all metal? i know you dont have to oil the nylon gears because plastic is a petrol product and it kinda oils its self

naa. I don't think it's necessary. Of course it probably wouldn't hurt to shoot a little WD40 in there.

My brand new OTB set came with a little tube of oil. UE has instructions to use a moly grease with their Super6 FOC. I would recommend Gorilla Snawt.

I don't think oil would work well as it would just get slung off the gears.

Hell, as much $$ I've put into this rig I might as well put ZMax in it :)

*edit*

Thanks Randy. I'm not really sure why I brought it up. I know it's not intended for things like that.

Well, I've done a few small things the last week such as tapping my aluminum steering servo arm, gluing the tires and wiring. I'm currently working on the fuel line and this is the best location I can figure out to mount my OFNA stone filter. As you can see I'll be using standard fuel line from the tank to the filter because it's very difficult to get tight bends like that with the aluminum fuel line. The remaining fuel line will be aluminum however.

Looks like you are using the same RPM shock towers I am using....I like 'em, pretty solid with out being brittle like stock. Like the filter. I need to invest in one like it.

Yes, they are pretty soft. Not the best for track peformance I'm sure but this project was really meant to be a basher anyways. I think it probably could be a decent racer but I mainly wanted to build a truck that could absorb impacts with minimal breakage. That's why I went with Flextek arms, RPM towers and stock bumper supports etc... I've just about finished the fuel line but I have to go to work in a little bit so I won't be able to post any pics today. I might try to do my pressure line when I get home today.

True, but if you used a lil of the Lycas oil it might stand up a lil better. That stuff is sticky

Those fuel lines do look pretty nice I like 'em too. Not sure I'd go to that much work for mine though. That RB .28 is going to be retarded....I bet less than half the power will actually make it to the ground.....heh heh heh. Yeah...the only thing better than too much power is WAY too much power! I think some of the Pro-line Power Stroke shock sets would look really good on there. They really help the handling of the Maxx too. You sticking with the stocks?

Those are actually Traxxas Big Bores. I've been extremely happy with them, so no... I won't be making any suspension changes. Aside from a couple dozen screws that still need loctite, calibrating my linkages and painting a body, it's a done deal.
