Still haven't made it to the sand but I did take put the stock tires on and take it to a concrete skate park where I ran it on 2S... holy crap I forgot how much fun and how tough a stock [slow] Slash could be!

No pics or vids but there definitely will be next time I go!
Just tell the truth.🙄 You wanted a Slash so you built one and now you looooooooove it. ❤️😍🤣🤣🤣

Welcome group, my name is Jason and my favorite RC is my box stock Traxxas Slash. Here are some pictures of my stock truck doing stock truck things! Now I need some friends who also have Slashes and it'll be 2008 all over again!

Nice spot holmes! 🤩
Right! It’s actually a track that’s been in place for a few years at a public park one county over. Unfortunately, it’s not very well maintained and all the corrugated pipe they used for border has been removed from the track and set aside ☹️

Still looks like a blast!!! 😎

Still far better than what most get local! 😉 I hear ya on the corrugated pipe missing-but definitely saves your bodywork on an SCT! 🤘

Fast forward 3 months since my last update:

Winter is here and I have a set of paddle tires going unused, so...let's get this thing ready for some snow!

My son and I have been ripping the Slash around our front yard quite frequently. Just last week, we blew up the stock servo and the rear hinge pins loosened themselves for the 17,000th time. The servo actually smoked the board which threw me off because I've owned a lot of Slashes over the years and the stock plastic gears are usually what go...this truck is just special, I guess. New servo and captured hinge pins are on the way.

In the meantime, I've found a couple files for 3D Printed skis to mount on the front axles. I'm still deciding on which ones to try and/or considering the possibility of designing my own. I should have some updates by the weekend!

Servo came in and is installed.
The stock 12T on 2S is not enough to move the truck through the snow on paddles, so I'm not even going to mess with trying to print skis.

I think I've come to the conclusion that I'm just going to leave this truck alone and continue bashing the crap out of it with my son, replacing what breaks. His look of pure joy when he completely misses the ramp and goes into the curb at WOT while I'm laughing hysterically is all I need from this truck.
