So Lessen, Unlike SOME People we know, *cough cough Rolex Cough Cough* Are you actually going to put Nitro into the Engine at one point in your life?

I recommend Robitussin for that cough of yours.

Excellent idea to build the cage around the mold, Josh. I'm wondering if WD-40 would have been a better release agent since it's not water soluble.

If you know someone with a vacuum-form you could use that plaster mold to make body shells.

Oh believe me, many days I've considered making my own home vacuum former so I could design wnd make my own bodies. However, it wouodn't be worth it to copy an existing design. Once you crunch the numbers you realize you might as well just buy 'em through Proline or whomever.

If you can design it, the shop next to us can build the form mold for under 1k. I've talked to him about it before. We also have one of our molders that does vacuum forming, but I haven't priced it. You would be surpised at how cheap piece parts can be in volume and it wouldn't take a huge number to sell to cover the cost of the mold.
Just food for thought :D

could probably have a bit of a legal problem copying someone elses body...that is if you sold it.

Correct. IF I were to make a financial gain from it. I would never do that. If I were to do it for my own use they can't touch me.

always tantalizing me with business ideas.... :)

but you seem to have the mould thing figured out. I don't know how long plaster would last in a vacum former, however once you have a design that far it is nothing to keep going back and forth with materials to find one that would stand up reasonably.
So hurry up and show us how to build a roll cage already...lol

The stump puller.

A huge thanks to Randy for making me these absolutely gorgeous spur gears. I wanted a non-steel spur but nobody makes a nylon or delrin mod1 spur gear for the TMaxx. Well, here they are. Tooth counts in 54, 56, 58, 60 and 62. The torque monster 62 tooth is the mounted one below. I guess I miscalculated on the diameter of the peg holes because they are slightly outside of the plate but since I'm using all 12 I don't think it'll be an issue.

Thanks again Randy!

Well this was bugging me so I went digging. This one's on me Josh. Somehow my CAD drawings that I machined from have an extra 1mm on the peg hole radius over what your original design has. From the pic that looks about exactly how much it's off.
Now I'm ticked, dammit!

Don't sweat it Randy. I'm sure it'll be fine. Like I said, I'm using all 12 pegs. In stock form the Tmaxx is only outfitted with 6. I decided to have all 12 peg holes done because my Steel RRP gear had instructions to use all 12 so I thought that would be the best route. I think I'm gonna go put the 58T on and install the tranny right now. :) Now it's time to route that blingin fuel line and get my linkages all set up.

sup lessen sweet rig i love it. I'm new so why did you not want a steel spur gear:South_Carolina:?

I wanted a weak link somewhere in the drivetrain but I wanted it somewhere that is somewhat easily accesible. The only other option would have been to replace one of the steel gears inside the transmission with a nylon gear but if it fails it's more of a pain to get to, plus the cleanup inside the tranny is also sort of a pain as there would most likely be little chips of nylon all over the place within all of the other gears. This way if I have a failure the brass spur gear is more likely to fail than anything else and that is easy to replace and easy to cleanup.

That sounds well thought out if you don't mind me asking what do you have inside the tranny case?
