Wow... that's nuts Ralph. I can't believe it's that heavy... What the hell makes it so heavy? I know there really isn't that much bulk to the suspension arms (at least the uppers). I don't get it.. How long is that thing? The Maxx is 20 1/4" rearmost of rear tire to foremost of front tire.

I'm at almost 23" bumper to bumper, 25 to the end of the wheelie bar. I added the Fast Lane extended lowered TVPs that are double the thickness of the stock plates. Recently added alloy body mounts. It's also got the IMEX 44s on it. They're the biggest available. The end to end tire distance is 21 1/2.

Wow, it's been quite a while since I've updated this.

Well let's see... Since the last update I've got my new rear center driveshaft from RCAlloys. I've got my the RRP steel 1st and 2nd gears ordered through Tower as well. I decided against the Boulder Holder body and went with the Proline Ford -F650. I went with the LST/MGT size and it's gonna look great! The wheelbase is nearly perfect and the width of the body is gonna look great over the wheels. I've got a couple custom 1.0 module spurs in the works and I finally started cutting down some screws to mount my skidplates. For whatever reason I have a lot of 3x12's and they need to be like 3x9 so instead of spending stupid money for a dozen 3x8 stainless screws I'm just cutting them down. I guess that's really about it. I'll be mocking up the roll cage soon after I finish up another project that requires more immediate attention. That part is gonna be fun :)

That's one sick looking T Maxx Lessen! I never saw this thread before. I'll have to go back and read it later. Will we be seeing her at the Bash?

I just re-read this entire thread, and in April I decided to go for the alloy trans case. The only one available then was $200. The one that arrived today is now in. It was worth the wait. :)
Bling it on! :first_place:

WOW I jsut read through 80% of this thread. That truck makes me wanna touch myself inappropriatly! I'm going to look into some of the fast lane stuff for my build

Been quite a while since I've posted any progress with this truck. I pretty much have everything I need to get it up and running. I still have custom spur gear on order and I need to purchase a hump pack but other than that she's close to finished. I still have some little projects such as cutting down some screws that are too long, setting up linkage and fuel lines as well. The rollcage isn't something that I'll have finished by the time the rest of the truck is ready to roll but I just finished the plaster mold which I'll use to mock up the design of the cage. The purpose of the mold is so I can physically lay the final steel cage pieces into grooves which I will cut in the mold and tack weld them in their proper position.

Not too bad really. It was quite the SOAB getting it out but in all reality it came out less messed up than I expected. I'm quite pleased.

HOLY ****!!!!! Thats the best mold I have ever seen. Now this is a toss up, what is better, the Savage or the maxx?

i think we should have a bet on which gets started first, the Maxx or the Savage.

That's a no brainer!

Cool looking mold, will definately make it easy to fit the cage exactly like you want it.
I'm not sure how it would work for plaster, but for our molds we use a spray on mold release.

I did grease up the body with some cooking oil but it still took quite a bit of wiggling and shaking/knocking to get it to come off. In the end it came off quite nicely. Now I have a perfect platform to work with

So Lessen, Unlike SOME People we know, *cough cough Rolex Cough Cough* Are you actually going to put Nitro into the Engine at one point in your life?

Of course. This thing is being built to bash. No aluminum suspension arms here... :) I just need a couple more items before I can wrap up a couple loose ends and begin break-in.
