What would be the benefit of running piggyback reservoir crawler shocks? These are for a 1/10.

yes I've wondered this as well, cmon gurus enlighten us
I think you have to climb the mountain first, and well... maybe Vegeta can get the answer for you.
:hehe:

For a crawler? 100% purely aesthetic. Remote, or piggyback reservoir shocks are typically to provide more fluid (think “surface area”), to combat fluid degradation due to excessive HEAT.. This causes fade, and excessive pressure (rebound in monotube RC shocks), which are both counterproductive for damping consistency. Think full size, competition trophy trucks… When they’re blasting through the desert at 130mph, those shocks are getting a SERIOUS workout, and moving fluid like you would not believe.. You don’t even want to know what a set of KING shocks cost for one of those vehicles-it is ASTONISHING.. they’re also not ridiculously ARCHAIC single tube design like our absolutely TERRIBLE RC vehicle shocks..

A crawler shock is completely at the other end of the spectrum as far as frequency is concerned.. So there’s that..

If you like how they look on your RC, and you’re alright with them not doing anything more than the kit shocks, and at a higher price tag; then enjoy. 🤘

Crap tons of info out there on full size suspension technology. Most likely not enough fluid/size to make a huge difference when used in the scaled down scheme of RC vehicles. Those Integy shocks do intrigue me with the clear reservoir canister. Showing spring/piston/orings?... that's pretty cool though.

I've never seen them before. That's probably because I've never looked for them. Search for reviews on the shocks, 'cause Integy gets a bad rap when anyone brings up that name. I've got Integy hex drivers from early 90's which are great.

If I were in charge of Integy, I would have onboard camera footage of the shocks/reservoirs at work. 🎬🎥

Integy and shocks is a combination of words I steer clear of. I have about 5 sets of Integy shocks I bought for various little crawler builds years ago. Every single set set has at least one shock that doesn't work, leaks, pivot balls seized up in the mounting holes, etc. The junkiest of junk shocks I have ever had.
