I like the black and orange though man. Maby I can base my scaler around this.... Well see.
You also need to keep in mind that you need a specific ESC for the crawler or scaler. There's lots of options out there, but most of the race style ESC's have a reverse delay and don't have a hold brake/drag brake setting.
The Castle Sidewinder and Mamba Max are some of the best, and there are other options as well. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions, I just didn't want you to spend money on an ESC and then later realize that it's not what you need for your application.
Like H8z2luze said, you will also need a steering servo, and a crawler motor, along with the radio system. The other component that you'll most likely need is a Castle Creations 10 amp
BEC. Because of the high amp draw of the high torque servos, along with the high torque motors, if you don't run an external
BEC, you will most likely notice that the motor cuts out, like a glitch, when you're turning and accelerating at the same time. The
BEC eliminates that problem. Also, you can program it to put 6 volts to your servos, as most ESC's only put out 5.1 volts, so you don't allow the servo to reach its full potential. The BEC only runs about $20.
You could use the X-Trail chassis and build a nice scaler with the axial axles. I will probably do a build like that when I finish my trailfinder, after seeing what Brandon did with the trailfinder chassis. With leaf springs and the right shock setup, they can look VERY scale.
