I'm wanting to get a bouncer style full bore rock crawler. Want to get a kit to build not rtr.
Please post pictures, and what brand/make it is.I really only have a little knowledge on rtr and know nothing about kits or which companies do kits. I prefer 4 link front and rear with axle mounted servos, 4 wheel steer is preferable. Is there a company that does kits with different options available or completeness level? I've been searching online and not finding much.

Aren't rock bouncers just rock buggies with massive engines and tall gearing? Asking because I'm interested in this build and would like to know the difference.

If so, maybe a Gmade GR01 with like a 4300kv and fat pinion? Its even got a 2 speed trans and slipper assembly which i think would be a perfect combo for the application.

I built a rock buggy looking thing from the injora 1/10 chassis. I used it as a rock crawler and it was really capable. It had ssd straight axles and a few esc/motor combos as it evolved. When I used it like a bouncer it would just loosen up screws and everything else. Eventually I used all the parts to build something else.

Yeah, I want the bouncer look but for rock crawling. My creek has lots of big rocks and any speed and things get crazy.

The Capra is basically what I'm looking for but I want a kit

Ohhh I misread. I thought you wanted to build a bouncer lol

@TeknoJ is probably on point here. Just build it from the ground up. Then you can run something like dual AR45P axles with the servo on axle adapters for that 4ws. Thing would be a monster

So basically I need to build from the ground up because there's not one kit available?
Or build a rtr and modify it to suit my wants.
Is the crawler market just dead? I'm having a heck of a time even finding a chassis with the bouncer style cage/body on it. Where are you guys buying parts that aren't made of gold?

I think the 1/10 crawler market is very much alive. The thing is, most guys just casually running 1/10 are running overland style builds, whereas the guys taking it seriously running comp buggies with 4ws are all building custom rigs or running the Bully kits. Unfortunately I dont think theres much of a market for rock buggy kits.

But there is still that Gmade kit linked earlier. The only thing its missing is 4ws and servo on axle. You'd have to buy an extra front axle and run the GOM 30085 adapters front and rear to make it servo on axle. Probably gonna be the best bet for what you're looking for. I think its the best looking rock buggy out there

That gmade KIT has almost nothing I want as far as options. Looks like I'm going to have to buy a Capra and spend $200 modifying it. 😥😥
I think @MVRCA has a great suggestion about the Gilamon.
You can’t really find a kit exactly like what you want, unless you can find a used Capra roller/chassis with axles for sale.

How do you know which link measurements you need with which axles to get? Do I just find a platform (Axial/traxxas/ect) and base parts on that companies stock parts? What if I want a longer wheelbase? If I go this route I want to order everything I need and put it together like a kit. I am having a heck of a time finding any rc company aftermarket parts company, or website that has any link lengths for different wheelbase for different manufacturers. Is everything I want to do so uncommon that none of this info is available anywhere? Is this all trial and error and hoping the parts ordered actually fit and give all the correct angles I need?

Mine was scx10.3 based link lengths and driveshaft.
If you want longer or shorter wheelbase you order the links for that specific wheelbase, then get a cut to length driveshaft.
I ordered driveshafts after I mocked up links, which may or may not be the best way to do it. For me, it was all a guessing game and a lot of time spent waiting for parts to arrive in batches.

I buy cheap sets of RCLions links on amazon. Specifically labeled for your model. Or I just get the sets that have the sizes I need. If they're too long I bend them in the vice. Cheap. Good to have spares. I like Capra axles. If you want to build the whole thing from the axles up consider a set of Meus axles.
Then in order I would go Gilamon then Ryft. I prefer capra axles just for the convenience. But a Capra with a brushless swap would be the route I would take If wanted it quick and easy.

DID ANYONE ACTUALLY READ MY POST? I'm LOOKING FOR A KIT NOT RTR.
Its slim pickins out there for a rock bouncer kit. Axial used to come out with a new one every year or 2, but hardly anyone puts out good kits anymore. They all cater to the "raw builders" crawler stuff.

The only thing I can think of that comes close to what you want and comes as a kit would be the Vanquish H10 Optic. Its an in-between but can be set up to your liking.
