Hey there all new to the hobby. Just wondering if someone out there knows what all i would need to swap my t4 over to newer style hex drive wheels. Thanks in advance for any help.

You do know the date on that linked "NEW" product. Don't you?

Awesome thanks!!!
Those axles are one of those "unicorn" parts that will have you searching for them for days and nights...and then some. Being in the right place at the right time type of deals... with premium price tag.

People and their B4/T4/SC10 platforms have been using modified B5/T5/ProSC10, Customworks, Traxxas steering/castor blocks for years.

The easiest hex conversion is probably going with Pro2 SC10DB/Trophy Rat parts. There is an eBay chop shop that usually has the steering blocks/caster blocks/axles grouped together. Just keep in mind that "5 series" Team Associated RCs moved to metric/larger ball studs in most areas.

Great info, thanks. That leads me to another question. I also have a trophy rat/rc10. Am I wasting my time with these or are they still competitive. It seems like they drive completely different. I'm still a beginner so I don't need anything top of the line just yet

Hey man i found a pretty good deal on some hop up parts for a b5/b5m so I went ahead and ordered a bunch. Do you know of any aftermarket chassis that people use? Thanks for any info. You seem to know your stuff so I figured I'd ask.

Are you looking for a T4 chassis? No aftermarket chassis that I'm aware of... only Integy... maybe. The newer T5M chassis will not work as a direct replacement for a T4 as the hole placement is different. Your best bet is to buy a used T4 as a parts vehicle. Finding a T4 chassis by itself will be very hit or miss and may bring a premium price tag with it.

Not looking for a t4 chassis really. I looked out if curiosity and didn't have much luck. I'm more interested in building with the b5 parts I have. I was curious if my b5 stuff could bolt up to my sr10 chassis. I can only find b5m chassis. I bought the whole integy suspension aluminum conversion kit for half price and a gear box for like 10 or 12. And a bunch of mount and braces were cheaper than the plastic replacement parts so I just went ahead and got em before I did all my research lol. I'm not doing anything with my sr10 and according to t.a. website that chassis is only used for the sr10 and I'm not really interested in building that right now as I have a trophy rat. T4. And I'm getting a pretty good deal on a b6.3d I'm picking up this weekend and it has 3 chassis and tons of spares so that leaves me with options. But I have alot of irons in the fire so I'm trying to narrow my focus. I want to build something that I can have fun with so I'm not constantly breaking the ones I want to race in my parking lot lol.

That SR10 chassis is used on quite a few platforms, the RB10 being one of them. I bet a person would have no trouble swapping B5 parts onto a SR10/RB10 chassis. The bellcranks, motor plate, and CVAs are the same. The outer extremities of the B5's caster/steering blocks, and rear hubs just offer more adjustability over the SR10/RB10 dumbed down counterparts.

Also I believe i was talking to you about gearing and motor stuff... in what application would I use my 5700 kv motor for? I swapped to the reedy 3300 with the same 32/74 but its topped out at like 35mph and that's not acceptable. I would like to get it around 45-50. I bought some pinion and spurs i think I'm going to try my 4k motor and just work my way through gears till I find what works. I'm not sure how realistic my speed goal is or how long I'll be interested because I'm buying an old b6.3 race setup off of someone tonight because I don't have enough cars yet lol

I used to race my B4 buggy on high grip clay. With a Castle Creations CM36 5700kv motor... stupid fast. Was the first time I ever pulled wheelies down the back stretch... with 6 cell 4200mah Intellect NiMh pack nonetheless 😁. I wish I would have gotten Castle's 4600kv instead. Heck, I bet the 3800kv would have done me well. Again, my stupid fast maybe meh to you. Off-road terrain, and speed runs are so far apart in what is fast. Just start at the recommended gearing charts and go from there.

Ya speed is relative i understand. I just don't have any good spots to drive them where they are more in their element so I'm going for speed runs right now. The track near me is supposed to open this weekend if the rain holds off. If not I'm selling all my car stuff and getting a boat lol. Track opening already got delayed a month so I'm getting antsy

What kind of gearing did you have on your b4? I finally got my 50mph i wanted. Also went to the track and realized I really don't need to go that fast but it's fun in the parking lot though. I've got that itch covered now I need to figure out the track now that it's opened. I hope the attachment loads but I hit 53. 75/27 gears with 3s and the stock reedy ecu and motor lol

Also I see these mounts for the rear hinge pins with 3+2 and 2+1.5 etc... do you know what those numbers represent. I've been trying but I can't seem to find any info.

The hinge pin/arm mounts marked with x° toe-in/x° anti-squat numbers.

I never was concerned about an actual speed number. Straight line speed and navigating bumpy off-road track speeds are two totally different environments. I don't remember what gearing I used on my B4. I just geared for runtime/heat sweet spot. I'm sure it was something recommended by Castle Creations though. You have to remember I was also using heavier NiMh battery packs.
