Moved thread to the the general forum since it isn't large scale specific.

I am not getting an RC rig, but I am picking up some tools and parts for my Baja's and a large rolling hauler.

A Losi 2.2 crawler is on order, but won't be available until after xmas so I guess it doesn't count.

I bought a nice used GT2 from Bryson recently but that doesn' really count at all. I'm not too much into buying things for myself for Christmas. I bought a mini heli a couple years ago for myself and I ended up selling it. Now I just lay out the hints to the wife and if I get a new rig I get a new rig, if not oh well. She always gets me something nice so it doesn't really matter. I guess I prefer to spend waaaay too much money on my son

I'm the same as you lessen, but for a different reason. I rarely need/want anything "normal", so I give my wife a list of stuff that I'd like to have for RC. The good thing about it is that I always have a list of "wants" for RC, so she doesn't have to find stuff I'll never use and be disappointed when I open it.

We are both hard to shop for because we have a nasty tendency to buy what we want when we want it. So when gift giving time comes... we're both not really in need of anything.

I am getting myself a Prographix body for my Slash and a can of Spaz Stix color-shifting paint to do 'er up along with a Traxxas VXL ESC and a Mamba brushless motor. Can't wait! Is it Christmas yet???

My wife doesn't ask for a list. She just goes out and gets me whatever she thinks I will like. Her gifts are always thoughtful and very nice. She usually leaves the RC stuff for me to get myself. She figures I spend more money throughout the year on RC anyway! LOL

I enjoy being surprised, so from now on I'm leaving it up to her. I'll hint to a couple things and put a couple other items in my broswers 'favorites' but I really have no idea what to expect. I like that about Christmas, makes me feel like a kid again.

I'm the same way, it's cool to get what you want, but it's even better if you don't know for sure what's coming.

I agree! I am finding that I really do enjoy being surprised! It does make you feel like a kid again!

I'm getting a new .28 and radio for my Aftershock "Fully Loaded" project and of course I'm builing the "Cheap-O-Maxx" for my son's Christmas present.

IF I do get a new rig I would assume it may either be a Thunder Tiger Ducatti Desmosedici nitro bike or a Losi JRX-S Type R touring car kit. Those are the only two links I've "planted". Other than that I've hinted at bluetooth stereo headphones, an automatic welding helmet and a monopod for our SLR camera. I think there was one other thing I've dropped a hint about but I can't recall.

I find with every year that passes I get more joy out of shopping for the family than looking forward to what I'm getting. My wife has been wanting a t.v. in our bedroom for quite a while and I've been pretty much dead set against it. So I suppose this is one of those "gives". Nice 26" Samsung LCD should make her happy this year. So yeah, she get's her t.v., but I still get the remote.

IF I am so lucky I already know a couple upgrades I'd do to it. First would be the front brake and a Spektrum Rx. I would ditch the plastic rider for a lexan rider as well.

I've always wondered if it's possible to do a front end stall. I'm not sure what they actually call that but it's where they jump on the brakes and bring the back end up until the bike comes to near complete stop. That would be stick as as hell if you could get an r/c bike to do that. :thumbup:

My wife and I noticed the house filling up with stuff we got for each other that never gets touched nor do we have the heart to part with so now we each get our own gift and then thank the other. (I just have to remember the damn cards....it's always the cards....what's up with women and cards anyway? Don't they know we love them just by looks we give.....or the fact that we're comfortable enough around them to fart in bed.....or the fact that when they wake up, we're still there whether they want us to be or not? LOL..yeah, I'm lucky too, my wife let's me play as much as I want so long as it meets 3 basic conditions.....It can somehow involve my boys, leaves enough money to pay bills and put food on the table, and that I shut the hell up about her purse collection. She's awesome and totally worth a card or flowers once in a while, I'm just a forgetful, thoughless turd when it comes time to do it. However, it may very well be the only benni of being deployed...I get a free year....which I had darn well better make up for next year.

were did you buy it from and were do you live ? i bought mine on the 10 th from an ebay store and nothing yet still waiting
