This was my dad's when I was a kid. The manual has a 1996 date on it. Almost completely stock. I'm working on cleaning it up and maybe getting it running again. This is the RC that has had me wanting to get into RC my whole life. This last year I was finally at a spot financially to be able to offord it. I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to nitro.

Most of the chassis and suspension has been cleaned up. I got to dig into the servos and engine next.

Nice thing about the rustler is Traxxas still hasn’t changed it! Parts are everywhere. I just restored an old rustler this last fall, not nearly as old as yours though.

Should be a very easy restoration. Finding black plastics may be difficult, but if need be, you can RIT dye newer grey plastics to match if need be. Electric rustler front suspension will bolt right on as well if you want to run 12mm hexes up front. You’ll need equal offset wheels if you go that route though. Good luck!

That's an awesome story about it. Awesome your set on restoring it.

Are you missing any parts or need anything for it?

so far the only things i have found are the front suspension pins are bent (#2639) the front bulkhead is cracked (#2530) and the battery holder is absolutely toast (#3170X)

I haven't torn into the engine yet. I'm not even sure how to really go about that and haven't researched it yet.
