Hey everyone, I was just wondering if any of you have any good ideas or know of any cool products for hopping up a Team Losi XXX-NT, I would like to start a little project which will make my car more trick. Any ideas would be great, thanks.

I just got a new XXX-NT about two months ago. One of the things that I did to make it more stylish was add shock boots to it. I found a few different sites on line to order them from, but in the end I made my own. It was cheaper and I had them in 15 minutes as opposed to having to wait a few days for them to arrive in the mail. Also, I added the RPM front bumper. This would be more of a personal preference. I added new rims and wheels then finally I painted up a new crowd pleaser body. I found that the little things make big differences in separating one NT from another.

To make it more durable and have smoother diff action, get the RRP aluminum monster diff gear and losi's carbide diff balls. When I did that, it made changing a monster gear every other weekend to not doing it for 4 gallons. I traded the truck away after 4 gallons though, so I don't know how long it really lasted.

Also, replace the front and diffinatly the rear pivot blocks with aluminum ones. Put on the RPM front bumper and a high torque steering servo and your ready to rock!

Both excellent suggestions  I also totally agree that the little things really do seperate one NT from another. Keep the suggestions coming thanks, peace.

If you really want it to stand out from the crowd and your a hop-up junkie, you could go with a steel chassis brace. I almost bought one, but never did. It will make changing the steering servo and gas tank a lot easier. It will also make the truck a lot stiffer. NRI TopPlate

That top-plate's an amazing idea man, thanks! I am going to do that one, make my truck more sturdy and reliable and trick ;), thanks a lot, peace.

Hardcore Racing makes a solid titanium chassis. Comes in blue, green, purple or silver

Hardcore Racing

It is a very nice looking chassis indeed!

I had the T-Maxx .15 pro cut out Ti Chassis for my T-Maxx and the quality is ALL there. This Ti Chassis will make you XXXNT as stiff as.........well let's just say it won't be flexin.

there is a guy on ebay that has a carbon fiber chassis.. and some carbon fiber shock towers.. that are pretty slick lookin.. that aluminum top plate looks awsoem.. but i dont need to change servos.. so i didnt worry bout that..

Well, been a while since I replied to this one, but, my XXX-NT is now recieving a NICE modification, I am putting on a cold-air intake system for it. Next step will be dual exhaust that I've seen off of eBay.

If it's that duel exhaust that looks like a bunch of bent pipe, don't get it. It performs like crap. It doesn't provide sufficient back pressure for the engine to run right.

If' it's like the c-vec one though, you should be fine.

Here are some other great suggested hop ups that I did with my Sport and Drake Edition:

Dace Manufacturering Battery Box Brace and Rear Shock Tower Brace (they also make Alum Chassis too)

Trinity Ti Brake Shaft and Aluminum Brake hub

Trinity Threaded Shock collars (if you have the threaded shock bodies)

Trinity Front and Rear Aluminum Pivot blocks

RC Screws Stainless Steel screw set

Motorsaver Air filter with mud guard

Lunsford Ti Turnbuckles and hinge pins

That's just some of them. My Sport is using a RRP Aluminum Diff gear, but I went with the stock diff gear in the Drake as I've heard that the RRP one adds rotating mass to the tranny that is not needed. I also upgraded the Sport diff screw and nut to the Monster Drake one that the Drake Edition comes stock with - been an AWESOME diff setup!

PD2:cool:

ABSOLUTELY STAY AWAY FROM THAT CARBON FIBER CHASSIS!

chassis flex will cause seperation between the spur and clutchbell and you'll eat spurs everytime it gets hooked up good coming out of a turn. TRUST ME!

Saggy

CF chassis won't transfer heat like alum. will so your engine will run hotter. Try the Boca Bearing captured thrust bearing and the HG alum. locknut, With the harden diff gear and carbin balls you will have a bullitt proof diff! And look at the Native Racing battery box (alum) it wont break on those tail down landings Native also makes that cool alum top plate.Between RC TRIK and NATIVE you can build an completly alum. XXX-NT except for the trans. case, That's the piece I need

Hello all, I now have some pics of my rig lol, so I should have them up as soon as I get them properly resized. I will put them here if anyone cares to see them, they'll be here soon... Peace.

They aren't the most noticible improvements from an eye candy perspective, but the front and rear aluminum pivot blocks are the best improvements to start with for reliability and ease of maintenance.

Sorry I forgot to ask with my last post, oh well I'll ask now... I also have some videos of my rig in action but I don't know how to post them or anything, does anyone know how I can get them online?
