Thanks for all of the info guys! I’m going Tuesday to the local (some what) hobby shop , they carry Redcat, AE, Traxxas, Rc4wd, axial and vanquish. It’s crazy in the pricing from say Redcat to Vanquish, I assume some of it’s the quality and some is the name brand?

On a side note why does team associated call almost everything RC10 even though it’s trail truck? Just confused? I remember the original rc10 and there is no resemblance besides maybe a gold chassis.
We like to think of it as piss poor marketing. But I will say the Element line of crawlers has been one of my favorites. Love the Ecto and the Sendero HD is a great trail truck.

I would say definately pay close attention to the Element rigs as well, I have two of them, the Enduro and the Gatekeeper. Both I bought as the kit versions, awesome rigs! They are a little overshadowed by Axial and Vanquish, but in my opinion, quality is right there with them.
Here's my 2 cents on Vanquish... they started out as high end, a lot of custom machining done right here in the good ol US of A. However, most everything they offer now seems to be out sourced over seas, like every other brand out there. Are they still good? Absolutely! But so are a dozen other brands out there. Vanquish I feel has ridden on their higher end reputation filtering down into their out sourced RTR options, that really are in the same quality camp as most upper end rigs. Dont get me wrong, I am not putting them down at all, and they are great rigs. The best? I think that all depends on who you ask.
Redcat is definately worth a look, they have been crushing it with a few of their recent offerings. Definately an underrated company. If in your budget, get your main rig, whiche er you de ide, then treat yourself to the Redcat Acsent 18 Apex as well! You will be blown away by the Apex.

I looked up the Ascent 18 apex, I’m not going to lie up until this point I thought that “overdrive” meant it had a 2 speed tranny. They showed the front with 11% od and the rear with 11% ud (with portals) so the front gets more bite/traction. I didn’t see that coming lmao.

The element enduro line comes std. With 6%, and includes optional gears to make it 12. The scx10 iii coyote is stock at 10% overdrive, but you can buy portal gears to change it to whatever you want.

@TunTun After you get your 1/10 crawler, do yourself a favor and get yourself a Redcat Apex 1/18 crawler. Excellent performer and a great travel companion (travel size comes in handy sometimes). Also great for indoors when the weather doesn't want to play nice or you just want to lounge around the house. I personally guarantee your satisfaction or your money back. 😁

I second this notion. The wife and I each have one and love them.
