I have several Samsung 18650, 3.7v, 2600mAh lithium-ion batteries and I was wondering about making a pack for my Associated 9 volt transmitter. Would I build a 2 cell pack at 7.4v or a 3 cell pack at 11.1, or should I just forget it?

It uses 6 dry cells, so that is 9 volts and a 2 cell pack is 7.4 volts or a 3 cell pack is 11.1 volts. Either way I will either under volt it or over volt it.

If you can find a 3s LiFe (Lithium Ferro-Sulfate or "LIFE") that is nominally 9.9 volts (LiFe cells are a nominally rated at 3.3 volts opposed to the 3.7 of LiPos). If your radio is a computer radio it MAY have setting for 12 volt packs. Personally though, I run high capacity NiMH AA batteries in my TXs. I found some 1300mAH batteries and can drive most of the afternoon without needing to recharge. They were cheep enough that even with a charger it didn't break the bank.

Lol...I didn't or don't mean to come off in any way!
I'm confused about the whole situation about 1 battery because ,because for years ,I always just used the
little wall charger for an igniter.Mine still work ,they are atleast 12 years old an I can start my rides about
a bunch on one chaege ,I have 2 in case one does die!

I think 2 18650 cells would work fine. Charged they are 4.2 volts per cell. If you put rechargeable AAs in it they would be 6 x 1.2v or 7.2V.
