Hello i'm in the UK so my choice is limited

And i have the price range of £200 - £300 (~$400 - $600)

I have found 4 Different buggies

Ok yeah, i'm going to be using it for fun.
Off-road ability and strength is very important .

i has to be durable, water happy and repairable.

thanks alot

Hello i'm in the UK so my choice is limited

Hyper 7
Lightning
Rex-X
Swift.

In that order.

Go for the one you can get spares for but the Hyper 7 and lighting are well proven, tough buggies. The GV - Rex-X is very old but solid, the swift is just...nah....

The market here is just as varied as the US by the way.

I'll second the Hyper 7, tough rig!

Keep in mind, though, that there is no such thing as "water happy". You can take measures to protect your electronics from water damage by dipping servos in Plasti-Dip and covering your RX with a balloon, but there are no sure-fire ways of totally waterproofing a rig that are guaranteed.

Good luck!

RC car action did up a Stampede that was about as waterproof as you an get. They had to open things up and coat it with something called Corrision Block. and they put some white grease around the output shaft. Put silicone on the bolt heads, and vinal tape on the seams. Plastidip works well too.

The H7 is a good choice, and I have seen a Swift be pretty durable.

Ebaying

been looking on ebay today and found this

Off road Fighter

It supposedly is a tamiya carson

I've found images and researched

I think this is a Carson Off Road Fighter 2

The only info on it is in german

It looks exactly like the Hyper 7 (link above)

Therefore i think they may share parts (or be exactly the same model under a different name)

Any ideas or help would be brill

Cheers

How quick would any of these cars be compared to the:

Academy RT4 GP

I'm hoping these Buggies would be better (faster)

But how is their off road capability compared.

also on ebay i've seen this

Mammoth ST

i have already bidded on the Carson ORF2

But if i Get outbid i might buy this

some more info

better does not = faster. You can pick up any buggy and put the most powerful mill into it, and it will be fast.

Nitrotek

ok apart from all the buggies being out of stock what do you think of this
http://www.nitrotek.co.uk/hnc365pro.htm

It says 1/10th, My Dads academy said 1/10th and it was huge (but its a truck)

But for the price it looks V.Good

i've e-mailed them anyway just asking when will they get stock.

Any comments?

I have had a Hot Lava pro since Nov 06, And i wished i had NEVER bought it.

I have run about half a gallon, and broke the clutch spring, pivot balls, 2 front wheels (they are very weak), a screw head broke of the engine mount.
And all this was driving round a cycle circuit, no jumps, just small bumps.

I bought this for my 9 year old son, and he never even got to have a go. It now resides in the my attic.

Leave it alone mate.

Thanks Dave

thanks alot.

I'll make sure i dont get it

I'll stick to ebay and motorsport UK

Thanks
Brickmen

No worries.

I thought the same as you. looks good. (thats about it)

I went with 1/8, much sturdier than a 1/10
