I bought some 55wt shock oil tonight. I changed the oil in the front shocks tonight. I got it all back together and when pushing the front of the truck down it feels pretty much the same as it did before with the stock oil in there. Is this right?

Can anyone explain what exactly diff oil does performance wise. What do the different mixtures do to performance and that sort of thing. What do higher weights do and what do lower weights do? Kind of a noob question but I never got a complete explanation. Thanks
