I looked on the traxxas website the other night for some center cvd's to put on my e-maxx 3908. In the parts list it lists part # 5650r as being center cvd's for revo/summit. I assumed since they were in the e-maxx section they must fit.......I was wrong!! Now I have more brand new stuff to lose money on.

Does anyone know of a cvd or dogbone for that chassis?

BTW Traxxas' new site sucks monkey BA!!$

Got it!! I put some drive cups on and took a measurement. Found traxxas part# 5188, a 112mm dogbone.

Have you tried "www.buytraxxas.com" I never go to the community traxxas might have better luck with the buytraxxas! :)

Never heard of it either but I would rather go to Tower or A-Main myself. I just got a set of the slider center CVDs from MIP....pretty slick set-up. The can be darn near any length you need them to be.

I had bad luck with them, but it might have had something to do with wet grass making them rust easily. The rear shaft broke in about 5-6 tanks with a picco 21 max, and I had to search for the missing pieces.

Maybe some kind of boot would've helped, I don't know if there's one available for mips.

I thought I saw one for the Emax but could be wrong. I coat mine in Royal Purple chain lube and they hold up pretty well. I am in 90% humidity and a half mile from the ocean so yeah I know what you mean with rust and corrosion!!!

Chain lube! great idea. I got the dogbone coming in the mail, we'll see how that works out for now. I'm gonna work on beefing the chassis first.
It really pisses me off that traxxas only offers center cvds for the short chassis maxx, the brushless has 3 times the power of a 3.3!

solution...... associated, kyosho, losi, tamiya, hpi, ofna. I've had 5 traxxas vehicle in my life and the only one I've been satisfied with was my slash 4x4. my first hpi was like a god send. it was a baja 5t its extremely durable, great manual, build quality is top notch and incorporate tons of aluminum into their heavy duty designs!

That's a fine solution if those are the vehicles you prefer and the lhs stocks parts for them. This isn't the case for most folks.

I understand losi, associated and hpi, but kyosho and tamiya? I don't think they offer anything that compares to the brushless trucks. They're kinda old school.....and I have a losi, it's pretty sweet.

i kinda just threw those in for some filler hahaha, i have a slash 4x4 and I'm in love with it! but I've had 2 maxx trucks that were just a nightmare.

I found some for my 3903 that I converted to brushless it is the extended chassis like the 3908. Traxxas part number 5151r. Found them on fleabay

Let me know if they fit please! I just ordered a center dogbone #5188 for the 3905, but I measured, and it will also fit my embe.
