My friend raced his Kyosho Saturday. Running in 5th, B block broke, hinge pin failed, spun out, hit by another racer, DNF. He said- I don't like it. It doesn't do what the Mugen will do. I'm going back to my Mugen. It's tougher. I was like, ouch- sorry man!
Did someone mention a Kyosho for sale??? 🤔

A very good deal on a MP10e possibly? Heck yeah. The dual 2S pack setup intrigues me.
I love Kyosho,s vintage! I am REALLY looking forward to falling BACK in love with NEW Kyosho now too!
I would enjoy checking out an MP10 for sure!
Honestly, I still want to buy a rere Optima Mid too. And a Scorpion... And... 🤣🤣🤣

This is what comes to mind when I hear Kyosho mentioned (circa 1987)…

Same. And the Turbo Optima, and Javelin.. @WickedFog has a TREMENDOUS Javvy, and I wanna say Ultima as well..

I’m a bit of a (Closet’d 🤣) K-car fan, and they make some nice stuff. My only issue with them is that their 1/8 buggy/truggy platform hasn’t changed much to speak of since around 2006… They ARE very easy to drive, but can be a bit delicate (not quite as much as TLR (Losi post Horizon Hobby takeover), and are absolutely THE most expensive to throw upgrade parts at (and they absolutely need their fair share).. One of my all time favorite 1/8 Truggies ever was my ST-RR with BCE extended chassis, AB Mods Picco P7R Evo, Nova 9886 hard coated pipe, Hitec Titanium gear servo’s, and Airtronics M11 w/Fasst setup… That thing was an absolute missle, and drove so freakin hooked up.. I don’t have a single photo of that one.. 😔

The Kyosho Legendary series are my favs of all time. Mostly because when I bought my Javelin in '86, the Kyosho cars were like the coolest kits out back then. I still need a Scorpion, a Tomahawk, and an Optima and Optima Mid to finish out my collection 🤪

The Turbo Scorp is still waiting on a paint scheme to come to mind.

They are STILL the coolest kits out there!!! ❤️❤️❤️

I had a Scorpion, way back when it first appeared as Cox branded model.

Interesting design with the twin rails and plastic tub. It was an improvement over the Tamiya kits of the same era, but wasn't nearly as good, IMO, as the RC10 of the time.

⬆️That⬆️ is one COOL kit!!!

The RC’s I remember having a fondness for (or slight obsession) back in 1987/1988 were the Ultima , RC10 , Optima Mid , Monster Beetle and Lunch Box. I had a friend who was very much into hobby grade RC’s. He’s the one who showed me the difference between my turbo hopper and Lobo2 and his RC10. That’s what opened my eyes. He showed me my first issue of RC Car Action magazine. I was hooked. I remember seeing his RC10 for the first time and I was confused why the body was clear. I didn’t know what the hell was going on 🤣

I STILL can't figure out exactly what the magic of those magazines was...
SO MANY products I was SURE I NEEDED!!! 🤣
I'm glad I listened to some of it at least!!!😍😍😍

The RCCA buyer’s guide Christmas 1987 was my bible.

I have a bookmark set to a competitor site... It has a 2 part series from RCCA on the Optima.
I had seen them before, years ago.
Still, I felt my excitement rising as I read... The pictures almost had sound too!
I flip back to it as refference for a Hot Trick Optima I'm working on.
Solid info, even today!!!
Awesome! 🤣🤣🤣

We can’t drive today due to rainy , windy weather here. So the kids wanna detail their rigs and make them all clean and shiny inside and out. I realize they’re just gonna get dirty again tomorrow when we take them out but it’ll keep them occupied (and quiet) on a rainy Saturday. And a new body for the Rustler should be arriving today too.

Also , I wish I wasn’t so smitten with how 1/8 scale buggies look. But I am. I'm running out of room to keep these things.

Spoken like a true r/c addict! 🤣🤣🤣
I like everything about 1/8 scale except they are huge!
Gotta get 1/8 durability into 1/10 scale and under buggies!

Now that there’s 4 of us all with our own RC trucks , I may have to look into setting up some kind of shelf in the basement to keep them. The guy at the local hobby shop the other day offered to buy my MT10 but his offer was laughable 😂

I am also looking into shelving.
This Optima build has gotten WAY out of hand! 🤣
