You could progress away from Traxxas to manufacturers that don’t do that nonsense..

Aww, hell, I found Amain has a free battery and charger, so I pulled the trigger. Price was still $319 for my Traxxas Raptor 2WD, but at least got a little free stuff!. Now to keep it from the wifey!!
