General RC Information
We approached this build to showcase our ideas on how to get the best from the Axial Capra. Much of the work takes place "under the hood" with everything starting from a new skid plate. This new skid plate was designed to work with Dlux Fab's ultra light portal transmission. From there we stretched out the links to a wheelbase of 13.25".
From the factory, the front bulkhead and battery tray is a hot mess, greatly hindering performance. To change this, we made a custom front servo mount with integral battery tray. Then we designed a new front bulkhead, printed out of carbon fiber enforced filament. Brass portal cover weights, overdrive gears, Dlux Fab Dravtech shocks, and a Holmes Hobbies Team Spec 2250 outrunner helped finish off the build.
On the trail, it is quite impressive.

- Challenges Faced
- Getting the hybrid front servo mount / battery tray to fit under the hood without rubbing against the driveshafts. It's a bit tricky to get the 350 mAh battery installed, but has enough capacity to get us 45 minutes or so of crawling.
