You can find them on almost any hobby website. Or you can do like i do and convert everything to deans plugs. Charger, batteries, and vehicle. Always remember, female on batteries, male on rig and charger.
 
I'm not a big fan of adapters like that on rigs with brushless setups. Its a lot of current to be making restrictive passes like that. I'd just convert everything to one type of plug.

Yep, That is exactly what you need to do. Those would be just perfect.
Like i said before. Female's on battery, Males on charger/rig. The rig comes with the traxxas connector preinstalled, so you dont have to worry about that one. Just make sure to get enough females for each battery you have, and a male for the charger


No trouble at all, you can ask just about anyone on here. I'm an @$$-hole and if something bothers me, i express it. lol. I must say that you have been one of the most polite newbs on the site, comming on here with a great attitude and a willingness to learn, and most importantly LISTEN to what people have to say. That is rare here with the new guys. Most start arguing that we have no idea what we are talking about, and continue to defend their wrong ideals of what is going on.

I have to agree, I've read the whole thread and not only did you listen, you tried to figure it out on your own with some help. My brother and I were talking about this earlier today, if you didnt know anyone in the hobby when you started, it would be a train wreck. Of course, it makes for some very good deals on used RC's. :D

Me and a few other guys have been going to Hobbypartz.com for batteries and I think one like this would be much better suited for a Slash or any thing with a high current draw http://www.hobbypartz.com/98p-40c-5000-2s1p-hardcase.html the hight the "C" rating the better, and they should fit in a Slash. Not sure if they are still doing it or not but I got free shipping when I ordered my batteries, they also have chargers.

Hmmmm free shipping to Australia two problems would not arrive in time for my departure to the USA next Monday and I am not sure I want to be carrying these batteries with me.

The following statement is from the charger I posted the the link to on the IMAX B6-AC Charger/Discharger "This charger has a JST-XH charge plug, which makes it compatible with Zippy, HXT, Loong Max and any pack with a JST adapter" is this the balancing PCB with the multi pin sockets?

Man all this jargon has my head in a spin.

I have looked everywhere for a Thunder AC-6 charger and everyone is out of stock. I know this one has all the goodies and is around 50 -60 dollars.

The IMAX B6-AC doesn't have or apprears not to have the balance charging PCB I wonder if the only accessory listed is the board. Or do I need something like this http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewitem.asp?idproduct=7444 ??

Maybe it will easy going with Alpines suggested charger albeit about twice the price?

You will quickly learn that you get what you pay for in this hobby. Some chargers come with balancing ports in them. You can always go with an external balancer. Then you can use just about any charger with lipo capability.

If you need any help with the lingo, just ask.

The Imax states it has a balancing feature inbuilt and has a 7 pin connector on the side so I assumed that all I need is a board that interfaces from Imax to the balancing connector of the battery.

Do all the LiPo batteries have the same multipin plug type? Or do different LiPo Battery brands have different types of plugs?

It has becoming quite frustrating finding bits in stock seems the online companies don't have the bits I want or if they do there are not is stock. I have given up trying to find one company that can supply all I need.

I have been trying to find the LiPo safe bags and everyone seems to out of these too.

I am just going to start ordering bits get them delivered to my brothers place and work out what I might need from there. I am know I am the right track thanks to your help.

One quick question the Traxx Slash 2WD drive I take it that the speed control is linear? That is progressive pressure on the RC trigger will increase the Traxx'x speed and off will decrease the speed.....sorry this is probably a real noob question!!:n00bie:

Yea. It has a progressive trigger. Pull more, more speed. I believe that the velenion esc that comes with it is pull for throttle. Push for brake. Release and push again for reverse. Where in the states does your brother live? Maybe we can help you find a hobby shop around where he lives to assist with things you can't find in stock online.
 
He lives in San Francisco -- Live Castro Valley and works in Hayward. It would be good to find a local shop as you said for some bits that might be needed.

Oh yea. there will be a good bit of shops around that area. You could probably get everything you need from them, but would pay a lil more.
 
I should ask the difference between 2WD and 4WD Traxx Slashes as far as handling and enjoyment is concerned.

I suspect that the 4WD you won't get on 2 wheels where the 2WD will?

I suppose I was going the 2WD because my budget was blown and the 4WD was dearer.

Probably can't loose sight a 12 yo boy will be using it.

Interested in your thoughts from this perspecitive.

I have just ordered the Imax charger and some Turnigy batteries, connectors, LiPo safety charging bag.

Will order the Traxx Slash when I have clear in my mind the 2WD vs 4WD benifits.

Any recommendation where is the best price in the Traxx Slash would be appreciated too.

I would go with the 4x4. Many reasons. With the 4x4 you have rear and front wheels pulling the vehicle vs just the rear thus having less stress along the entire drive line. You will have much more control with the 4x4.

With my personal preference, i enjoy the 2x4 because it is more of a challenge to drive especially on a clay track, and short grass.
