Who was wrenching today??? What did you do??

Well I wrenched on the new crawler I'm building but to be honest, I didn't enjoy it.
I've worked a solid 10 to 12 hours wrenching on RCs before but I just don't feel like it anymore. :(
Hang in there man. Little bit at a time.

Cutting up some liquid mask for round three, and four…😎🤙

I am really starting to not like you man. I wish I could draw and cut a straight line. Can't wait to see these beauties! I am going to shoot you a PM begging for a paintjob one of these days.

I finally managed to get most of my workbench cleared off yesterday so I could work more comfortably.

After that I changed out the 6 shock springs on our little 6x6 build. In the before pic below, you can see just how stiff the springs were.

I was back and forth between the laughing reaction, or the care one-so I went with the care one, and here’s the laughing for the “hatred”——-> 🤣

I’m just sharing as I practice, and learn a new skill lol.. I definitely appreciate the kind words, and encouragement! Super happy it’s coming to me fairly quickly. I’ve been in automotive/maintenance work all my life, and have a good friend who’s in auto body/paint that I’ve done a fair amount of sidework with. Everytime he’s handed me the gun-I’ve failed MISERABLY. I never could get the dual action down, so I was beyond nervous, and anticipating disappointment, or at the very least; a HELLA steep learning curve.. Just been listening to all the right veterans, being patient, using my head, and always telling myself, “slow is smooth, and smooth is nice” (FAST when racing 😉, but this is paint lol).

I’m actually pretty surprised at the number of folks that want me to shoot their lids already, and I’m definitely taking it as a helluva compliment, so THANK YOU sir! ☺️

Believe me-my artistic ability is NOT where it was 30-35yrs ago, so I just take my sweet ass time with the sharpie work.. -and the blade work is BY FAR my least favorite part of doing these bodies. So I need to do it A LOT, to get better at it, and feel content with my results. I’m far from confident on Mrs. Littlemotor’s graphics, so I’ll take it VERY slowly, and just hope for the best lol..

I’m looking forward to doing the bodies for the new buggy for sure. The colors will likely be very similar, but the scheme will be a little tweaked, and I plan to try a couple different effects as well. Can’t WAIT for the new spray goodies to arrive…🤩🤙

Happy to see ya working on stuff over there! Looks like fun!!

I tried but only made it about 10 minutes.
Better than nothing man. I have maybe 20 minutes at the bench so far today. Going to try to get some more done in a bit.

Before running the Boomerang, had to readjust the gear mesh. The good ole Tamiya blades for setting it. Tamiya 540 Super Stock RZ motor. Ran really good. 2s lipo conversion. Gorgon 2n1 ESC & radio. 2008 Futaba servo still does great. Thing really scoots.

The spoiler on my 1rc got damaged so I made a new one (my mistake). I just measured it using calipers, put a square in the cricut software and punched in the measurements. the cricut machine scored the lexan and all i had to do was snap off the excess lexan. I then lined up the old spoiler with the new one and marked and reamed the holes, and volia. I'll remove the film and put the silver strip on the spoiler after I install it to the body. Fortunately the lexan sheet I had is the same thickness as the old one.

That's gonna look great! Man, you should do some cool painting trick with this one. Maybe a marbled or carbon fiber area on it. Go put that new airbrush to work 😉

It fits fairly well on the tmaxx as well, but I already got a clear tmaxx body I haven’t done anything with so still not sure. Will probably practice with the airbrush on the tmaxx body first, they are fairly cheap and we know we go through them 🤣. Think I will need to get some different body mounts for the big rock.

Should have the airbrush and maybe the compressor today, it’s all at the post office but only the brush shows out for delivery so far. Paint should be here Monday or Tuesday.

Spent time with the kiddo putting a wheelie bar on the Gorgon.
Then put the hinge pin back in the control arm of the DeeRC 200e
I put it back in twice before it met with the tall grass @ 50mph or so.
We need a new hinge pin now. Lol! That thing has likely now just re-entered from orbit!

We chased little prop blades from micro drones and put them back on after our crashes. I dunno if that counts as wrenching but it was an AWESOME day spent R/C'ing with him! ❤️
