What grease is that? You have to watch using some grease with plastic. Some petroleum based greases will slowly melt plastic. I use Mobil1 synthetic, which is a red grease. Doesn't harm plastic.

regular old marine grease from horizon hobby designed (allegedly) " for use in multiple rc applications"
also if it slowly destroys plastic
we both know ima break and replace it before it has time to erode anything.
especially on an axle. this makes the 3rd so far on the ecto same break point every time
i feel this is more a reflection on the driver rather than the parts themselves. i abuse them really rough apparently (lol not even trying to deny that lol)
then you add in the base camp. my son has broken the axle on it 2 times so far. we are rough oon axles in this family

Oh, ok. Yeah marine grease is supposed to be ok I think.

At some point you'll have spent enough to buy metal axles. Though I fear you won't have too much trouble breaking them as well. Better go with billet so it bends instead of breaking 😉

I've thought about getting metal axles before, if i do id probably do portal axles, my issue with that is i am going to break em regardless of the material I'm pretty confident. a replacement axle at this point costs me about 10 bucks, a metal axle starts at 100
metal axles LOOK much cooler imo, but i dont get upset when i break a plastic part, but if my metal part broke/bent. id be screwed. i dont mind the small repairs. gives me something to do that i enjoy. i am not as confident id feel the same if i was costing triple digits with each repair. hell id have to drive so much more carefully.
also thought about metals on the basecamp, but same thing. my sons as rough as i am. is hard for me as a working parent to let my son play with the 300 version of the car let alone a hopped up 1k version id end up being upset when he drove it.
just saying its something i have and do consider often
basically everytime i break something,
which is basically everytime i drive it lol

If you buy cast axle housings, I could see them breaking. Castings don't bend. But machined billet axles should be pretty darned durable. And if you bent a link or shock mount, it will bend right back fairly easily.

But eventually you will learn what breaks them, and you should develop an eye for those situations. I've seen people post pics of their frames bent in half. One guy had a truck named Taco because he folded it in half when his wheels got in a bind 🤣

Plastic axles slide better over obstacles than metal axles do, but that didn't stop me from putting metal skid plates on mine. 🤣

I was pretty sure that "Blueberry Grease" was Smuckers.

Worked on the rs4 3. Stripped the chassis snd playing with trannies. Think I'm gonna try and source an AE RC10 B74 trsnny. More along the lines of a factory finish instead of a hack job.

This tranny here doesn't even have a bushing or beating g for the spur.

There are children here
When they go to school they'll know half the alphabet groups. Educational. 🤣😜 Besides @Doom! Guardian should be watching what he looks at. 😁🫠

After a year I mounted my 10.2 body. Also git it running. Need to clean the windows, wire up the leds, and fix the wheels and tires I need to install.

Everything is finally outta the way to get back on these Tekno’s, then onto Mrs. Littlemotor’s… Finally some light at the end of the tunnel. 😅

Took a much needed break for a couple days, but got the RC Dungeon cleaned up this evening, and sat down to knock out the decals.. Was almost a shame to cover up the paint…Almost, lol.. I can dig it.. Nitro Truggy is next up. 🤩🤙

Just gotta get the bumper and wheelie bar on it, gonna have to rig the wheelie bar back together (again 🤣) I haven’t yet found the one piece I need for it to be right, but it takes a beating from us so I’m not gonna worry bout it yet. At least now I can get the body ready (stupid me didn’t cut the mount holes before I tore it all apart 😂)
