took the Dromida DB apart again. did find some drag in the rear diff. tested the front diff in the rear housing and it spins free so it's not the housing. took the rear diff apart, cleaned it, sanded the sides again. stock they have bearing recesses that are poorly engendered and cause friction so the trick is to cut them off. relubed it and reinstalled, still not as free as the front. check the bearings. a little dirty but seem to be smooth. cleaned them, relubed them. reinstalled the diff, still not as free as the front. now idk what to do.
then noticed 3 of the wheels didn't spin as free as they should. so now iv got that apart.
i should probably look at the bearings on the center driveshaft cause they look a little dirty.
then noticed the tires are starting to dry rot and crack. luckily i have another set, but ill use these until they fully come apart. rule of thumb, unless the foams coming out they're good to go.

and when i get this figured out and put back together i still have the DT to do

these cars were fun for a while, now i kinda regret buying them.

also questioning how tight the rotor is in the motor. I'm thinking it should spin freer than it does...

Turned a whopping two screws, used a drop or three of Simple Green on a Q-Tip, and applied some adhesive backed black felt.. 🤣

Super happy with this. I’ll just use the Protek for the 1/10 sized “big bore’s” that the Mini-Truggies utilize.. -I mean if I happen to end up with a couple for whatever reason…🤷🏻‍♂️😅

alright, it's the freaking motor. take the motor out and the chassis rolls just fine. put the motor in and it's like the parking break it set. just spinning it by hand, the rotor is spinning inside the bearings, then catches and spins for a few rotations then the rotor spins in the bearing again. idk, i saturated it with penetrating lubricant, see if i can free up the bearings.

motor freed up, seems to work. rotor still spins in the bearing but not as bad, and with the motor installed the car will actually coast now, no more drag brake.
and instead of working on the DT i shuffled some crap around so i could access my tire box and more easily get to my radios. ill do the truck tomorrow.

Fixed up the mt8 after last nights bash 🤣

Wasn’t bad, it just lost a shock bolt, had a bent upper arm, and stripped the servo horn.

All ready to bash again today. Probably get tmaxx out to a burn some fuel
For the record, I had nothing to do with assembling the MT8! :woot:
