Hi, first of all i am new to this kind of trucks and i am looking to buy one which can be run in the sands. so any special one for sands or any 4wd will do the job.

Regards,
Mohamed

I would not recommend doing a lot of driving in the sand unless you like breaking down the truck and doing a complete cleaning, but you can run any of the popular monster trucks, like the savage, T Maxx, ect. what I would look for is one with sealed bearings, you will also need to make sure that your filter is sealed good because a few grains of sand can ruin a nitro motor..

+1, i did that to an old maxx of mine and sand somehow got into the engine and i had to take it all apart and clean it before it would run again

Thank you abadk9420 & savon for your comments. another question, was looking for a redcat Volcano but I noticed a big different in the price comparing with savage & T Maxx. so did you recommend me to go ahead with Volcano or Savage or T Maxx noting that my main concern is off-roading drive.

Well, depending on what you feel like spending, the jato with paddles on the back drives like a banchee on sand. Two wheel drive only, but you can get blade type tires for the front made for sand and paddles on the back.

The savage would also be a good one with paddles all around and the 3-speed trans. That will help with extra drag of the sand. May help your clutch shoes and slipper hold up longer since 1st gear is pretty low, but with 3 speeds, you still get good top speed.

If money is no object, I suggest you click here and watch the HPI baja run on the sand... IT WAS MADE FOR IT!!!!

That thing is just a joy to watch when you take a look at those vids.

Just make sure to read up on it a bit and get the right bits to help protect it for sand running.

Thank you olds97, Amazing videos. I will keep doing a comparesion between them and I will see.

Ever thought about a HPI Baja 5B?

alpinehyperlite, electric will be a good chose for me because the Nitro is difficult to find in my city. So what is your recommendation for Electric cars for off-road drive?

Depends, what would your major terrain be? Grass, sand, dirt, track, it all depends. Also what are you gona be wanting to do? Mud, water, dry areas, it all comes into factor.

Well, i have recently had the joy of toying around with the new traxxas slash. It is a pretty amazing little 2wd machine. With the "waterproof" setup, (sealed reciever box, esc, and servo) i have actually seen someone drive into a pool, drive across the shallow end to the deep end, back up to the shallow end, and fish it out with a net and drive away. Fix it up with a set of sand rail tires in the front, and some paddles in the rear (a member on here has that setup that looks F'ing amazing) and it would be a pretty badass mud/sand basher.
