i can't decide on which to get a lst2 or savage Xl....i want something fast and that i can bash with out haveing to worry about breaking something everytime i jump it...

thanks,
Steven

I've had a good look at the XL and its ok but personally I think its a big letdown. I'll take my MGT8.0 anytime. I like my LST2 cause its a solid truck but when you kill the 427 a power upgrade will be best. I'd put my money on the Losi.
The savage XL is pure Hype....... IMO

I have an lst2 and have put it through some pretty extreme torture and it keeps coming back for more. It has great power and performance. No matter which one you r going to get it can be broken if u run it hard enough. I have upgraded mine with all the aftermarket parts you can buy aluminum suspension arms by dynomite. Everything is super duty in durability. I can take it out and hit a jump and clear 40 plus feet or wreck and still roll over and keep on running.

LST2 LST2 LST2 LST2 LST2 LST2 LST2 LST2 LST2 LST2 LST2 LST2 LST2 LST2 LST2 LST2 LST2 LST2

I've got an LST2 and 2 more lst2's I'm building. THEY ROCK, are completely bullet proof, easy to get parts for and can be had pretty darn cheap if you want a used one.

i've got the lst2 and i love it, it's fast rips wheelies handles great. but when it comes to bashing i really doesn't hold up good at all more race than bashing if you ask me. lst2 is really easy to work on....... dont know much about the savage but it looks like more of a basher

Got the aftershock, which is an LST, but brought it up to LST2 for $65. Love it. Never broken a thing on it.

Dont know anything about the LST2, but my choice would be the XL because my Savage (2 of them) can take a really good beating...i think i will be the only one that will say the Savage but eh:hehe:, i love those trucks!!! Good luck!

I've always been a savage guy, i agree the xl is a big letdown, they made such a big deal about it, but all it is really is a savage x with a extended tvp and bigger tires
but i guess i would get the savage because I've put meine through hell and its still kicking, 5 rebuilds later and 6 engines, i gotta say, i love it!!

lol, ya i just saying, the thing lasts forever, just rebuild and put a new engine in!!:hehe:

savage XL speed out right...LSt2 Better shocks...

I love the savage xl 3 speed metal gear tranny...shocks need upgrade if you really want to pull high jumps...way way faster than the LST2...LS has better shocks I think...You just have to do the maintenance on all trucks ...Savage you gotta check the screws like with others...BUt Savage ROCKS...:first_place:

Come on GUYS let down???? IT is way better than the Savage x...should of been a let up...not down...or maybe a let little down....:p::first_place: savage XL BABy!!!!

Its a reasonable rig for sure. The problem is they had a big task to totally overshadow the Savage X, and they failed....
The XL ISN'T that fast, even for a monster truck, especially for a 3 speed, and its shocks dont seem to handle the huge extra amount of weight very well.
In relation to previous Savages its a failure in size related comparison.
I have an Associated MGT 8.0 and although there aren't a lot of MGT fans on this site dollar for dollar, pound for pound, the MGT8.0 is a better truck all around..........

I think the fuel tank is the same size...160 cc...I have a MGT 8.0 still in the box...so far I think durability MGT runs better...:first_place:

Yep. The MGT is very strong, and goes really hard for a rig that size, but that fuel tank is way too small. It should be 240cc at least.

my savage seems to always shut down when I fully brake now??? what do you think the problem is...tried setting the idle needle but still doesn't work...

That sounds like when you brake you are fully closing the carby. Take the air cleaner right off so you can look down the carby. Apply the brake and see if it closes more than at idle. It shouldn't.
If it does dont play with the trim or anything. Look at the servo rod and see how the spring moves between idle and brake.
You may need to reset the spring stopper on the rod to allow braking without carb shutdown.

oh hey thanks for the advice...I figured it out this morning...hey...I just left my setting stock but for some reason the idle was closing at brake ...so I opened it up a bit and it ran fine...hope it last heh thanks again!;)
