My kids were given this New Bright RC Son Uva Digger to “push around”
It’s missing the battery (9.6v) and remote (2.4Ghz). I’ve attached a picture of the battery pin in hopes there’s any chance of reviving it. What kind of battery would be compatible and is there any hope in getting a 2.4Ghz remote and it syncing up?

Oh. That is a New Bright. Are all your trucks the same brand?

Are you mechanically inclined? Can you solder? Because you're going to be much better off changing the battery to something more hobby grade. But modding that truck to use one is going to be difficult, because you'll have to hack it up and come up with a way to get a door on there to keep the battery in.

Buying the stock replacement batteries for those costs more than the truck, and it's ridiculous because they are crappy batteries. This is about $91 more than I would pay for this battery. And I'm not even kidding.

You just need a 9.6v battery. Here are two batteries, with a charger for $35.

As for the motor, I have no idea what is in those, but you can measure the diameter and length and report back and maybe we can find you something.

For the radio - ebay is going to be about your only source for funding one, and I have no idea how you bind the New Bright stuff.

I can solder and I’m familiar with ac/dc wiring and rewiring. I’m a technician of sorts by trade and while my job typically deals with RF frequencies and RF cable building I do also do some electrical repairs. I had a feeling these parts would be hard to source so any guidance on this is hugely welcome.

You can likely get the motors pretty cheap off ebay. But you kinda need to know what your stock motors are. If it doesn't say on the motor can, and I'm betting it doesn't, you're going to have to test the motor with a timing light or hall effect sensor or similar. But, to be honest, you're going to have more money in fixing these than what they're worth. These are sold at Walmart, and if you go on ebay, you can generally find used ones cheap. So maybe grab a couple used ones to have enough parts to get these going.

Are your other RC's twins to this rc?
Do the others work correctly?
Combining parts to build 1 out of 2 was my thinking.
Perhaps keeping this one as a parts donor makes sense?

Next thought is to scan ebay for a cheap truck and do similarly, parts to build 1 truck from 2.
I think buying parts for these truck would be tough and expensive if you can find them.

This idea defeats the repair but ultimately gets you a much better RC and now you can buy parts!

I own one of these. I like is so much in its stock form, I haven't upgraded it at all.
I ran it for over a year before I finally broke a servo. Its the only thing I broke on it.

They are a LOT of fun and excellent entry level, hobby grade RCs. This truck is likely to get you more use, better durability, is a better truck for your money.

I was afraid of that. Sadly none of them are the same brand so I can’t rob Peter for Paul.
