Hello friends! First post here.

I’m making a rudimentary RC crawler tank and could use some help as I haven’t done anything RC in about 15 years!

Here is the Chassis I have, and it has 4 motors. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B09V7J4QQH?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

The most important thing for me is that I can run it at “crawler speed” as I’m using it to convert a large tabletop wargame model, it will just be putting around a tabletop or rolling around some small obstacles for fun. So I figured this forum could help me the most! If you’re curious, here’s the model I’m converting, it’s for a tabletop wargame called Warhammer 40,000. Normally it has stompy feet.

It would be cool to make a very basic controller but I’m also ok with some kind of Bluetooth module to my iPhone.

I’d be extremely grateful for any help but will continue to do my own research. Here’s the parts list I’ve obtained so far, although I’m not sure they all work together. If there’s a great online hobby store to support instead of Amazon, I’d rather do that.

Arduino uno - https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01EWOE0UU/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A2WWHQ25ENKVJ1&psc=1

2x motor controllers capable of controlling 2 motors each - https://www.amazon.com/WWZMDiB-L298...x=l96+motor+controller+arduino,aps,132&sr=8-2

Bluetooth module? Does this work with my iPhone? https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B074GMQ6G3/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=AFLYC5O31PGVX&psc=1

I’m also looking to get into the RC crawler hobby in the future with a 1/24 scale or smaller. So hopefully I’ll see y’all around more in the future! Peace and love my friends ✌️ ❤️

Welcome to RCT Dane! Awesome project. Wish I could help, but arduino's and such are a bit above my pay grade my friend. Maybe someone here can help. But please post a build thread here so we can all learn along with you 😉

Way cool project! Unfortunately that is above my level on knowledge as well. Please keep us updated on how it go's. Looks like a fun one to watch as it progresses. 😍

Neat, I can't really help either. You are already in territory most of us don't fool around with. Perhaps another more advanced forum would be a better place for help, please let us know how this ends up. I look forward to seeing the progress on that thing!

Doing a little digging into this. I do not believe that module works with IOS.

These say they are though.

Curious. Do you understand how to program the Arduino to control everything?

Thanks everyone for the support & help! I don't have a timeline for this project yet, as I'm currently working on a lot of models but I'll be sure to come back in the future and drop an update or 2 :)

@WickedFog - I do not! But I've seen some videos and while I won't pretend to understand it, just like I don't understand how to code HTML, it looks like once you get the settings right it's good to go. And I think as far as Arduino projects go, it's a pretty simplistic one.

It will definitely be cool one you get it figured out.
