Ok, my christmas was pretty mellow & I didn't see any unusual gifts this year. So I want to know:

--- What is the worst (or unusaual) present you got this year?

The gift I didn't get...LOL

Well the worst was my grandfathers death so I did n't get to spend Christmas with him for the first time.

The wierdest was getting someone elses gift from a married man that was for a woman not his wife... It was lingerie. Guess I found out the true spirit that guy was into...

That could be worth a new engine for your mugen...w/ spare parts
what do you mean....

Just kidding....a guy you know got another woman other than his wife, some lingerie for a present....You accidentally got it....does his wife know about this? I was making a joke about bribbing him......that's all...

OOOOHHH! Lol

Well I let him know I got it but who knows if the wife found out. Thats his business. Let him figure that out. I hate gossip.

SOorry Bro for doing that to you.

Jon

My in-laws sent me some kitchen towles. I ended up using them to clean my cars ;)

Someone gave me an RC Battery Charger from Radio shack. I dont even own an electric RC let alone one from Radio Shack LOL.... they gave me the reciepts so that at least a plus....

sLY

I got a $50 gc to Best Buy, I hate that place. I asked for a gc to Tower Hobbies 'sigh'.

Hey don't knock the hygene gifts...Every year my mom fills a stocking up w/ soap/deodorant/toothpaste/toothbrush/mouthwash/and all the hygene goodies....every year as long as I can remember that's what I get in my stocking.....I used to think it was weird but I realize she gives me like 100 bucks in cleaning poop so I don't have to spend that dough.....

I know all the jokes about maybe I should take it as a hint and take a shower HAHA....just had to beat everybody else to that punchline.....

I didn't really get anything interesting. Actually, the most "fun" present I got was $100 cash from my father-in-law. I'm gonna buy some RC stuff. My son needs a JR receiver, but I really really want a good EZ up for racing (sucks to sit in the sun).

Anyway, when I was a kid, christmas was the end all be all holiday. I remember stiring restlessly inbed many Christmas Eve nights wishing to find a Nintendo Entertainment System or maybe a cool Radio Shack RC car under the tree for me. Now that I'm old (well older), I find the most joy comes in giving to others. Watching my kids go nuts over presents we bought them is the best. Also, you should have seen my brother-in-law gleefully jumping like a little kid when he opened the new hard drive I bought him for his xbox.

This year, I got a new pair of shoes, socks, a little gadget for sealing plastic bags, $100 from my father in-law and a cheese and sausage gift basket from my mom. It's a pretty cumby list I guess, but the joy of giving to others isn't something you can wrap up and the memories are yours to keep for a life time.

I agree, Christmas is so much more special when you have kids. My office is filled with the little trinkets they get from the secret santa shop ;)

Well said..

Any time someone takes their time and puts thought into a gift, its a good gift. It doesn't matter if you like it or not, Its the knowing that they enjoyed giving you something that they believed would make you happy or be useful.

The Radio Shack RC charger is an example of a GREAT gift. Whoever got it for you took time to look for something they believed would make you happy. Doesn't matter that they don't know jack about RCs they tried to make you happy. (RS has a liberal return policy after X-Mass :) Thank God!) My mom does the same stocking thing every year with the toothbrushes and deodorant. Its her way of being a mom. If it make her happy, I'm happy.

Don't get me wrong, What you do whit the stuff you don't like after X-Mass is up to you. Its better to return it and get something you like rather then letting it collect dust.

My best gift this year was from my mom. It was a $10.00 GS from my LHS.
She got so totally lost that by the time she got there she was in tears. She wasn't going to give up until she found it.

I think that this year was a plus for my Brother as it is the first time in a while that he has bought me a gift with his own money. He also got it from Best Buy.. I love that store. I could redecorate my house with Best Buy.LOL

I am so proud that he has been working so he could feel confident about himself and buy people gifts.

My Wife and Son's love is this best gift I get daily. I am truly blessed each day so I can't say I am not blessed.

I hope everyone sees the true meaning of Christmas..not the gifts but the gift that was given to us. For all those that know me here on the forum , they will know what that is.

God Bless Everyone of you

Jon
