I would imagine just about everybody has a full scale car or two of their own. What'cha got?
Here's my daily: 2021 Ram 1500 Limited Longhorn 4x4. I was thinking that my 2012 Ram would be 18 years old when I retire, and wanted to get a newer truck paid off before that happens. I was looking hard at a 2021 Ram Black Widow at a local stealership, but remembered why I call them The Awfulplex. Found this one up in Lewisville, TX and picked it up in Jul 2021. I waited until the SUV tires that came with started wearing out (around 20K miles) and installed a 2/3 lift/level kit along with some 285/55R22 Recon Grapplers. Much Better!
The red 2015 Camaro RS behind it is the wife's, which she barely even drives - it only has 32K miles on it, which is too bad because it's a blast to drive. I added the carbon fiber trim so she could pick it out of a crowd.
My current project is updating my 1980 CJ-7. I've had it since 1995, and it's been a fun toy (daily driver, early on). I just completed swapping the 258 I-6 & T-176 4-sp for an AMC 304 & TF999 automatic, upsized to 35x12.50 SSR Swampers, and have been updating everything along the way, including Edelbrock Pro Flow 4 MPFI, Patriot Clippster ceramic-coated header and true dual exhaust, Scorpion Performance 1.7 roller rockers, a YJ top (bigger glass), late-model 'paddle handle' hard doors, Corbeau high backs with heaters and lumbar, and just about everything else is getting touched while I have the disposable income before retirement in 5 years. I just upgraded to some Bushwacker cut-out flares, so I don't have to lift it any higher to clear the 35s, still need to paint the doors and add the Swamper graphics, and Raptorline the roof.
And finally, the garage queen - my 1971 Mach 1, which I resurrected from the dead. It was literally a piece of rust shaped like a '71 Mustang when I got it. I'd always wanted one since I was a teenager, and now I have one of my own. I went with 'Day Two Restomod,' since that's how it would've looked I'd had one as a kid, but it's loaded up with tons of Edelbrock & CompCam performance goodies (400hp at the crank, an AOD transmission, back-up camera, Retrosound stereo, power windows & locks, Autoloc alarm system, LED lights, H4 headlights, Classic Auto Air A/C, and enough RAAMat to keep the noise out at speed, plus a whole lot more hidden performance upgrades) mixed in with the period-correct cosmetic upgrades (even old school Lakewood traction bars that came to me with the car). I could literally put the stock 'pizza cutter' rims and sport caps back on and it would look like a stock Mach 1. Bucket list item checked off - I'll never restore a car from that far gone ever again.
So there it is - my little fleet. What'cha Drivin'?
