I printed my first trash part todayView attachment 223663
I was sitting at the PC and heard a slapping sound. So I got check and lo and behold I'm printing trash.
I'm not 100% sure what happened
But a few factors were at play

It was very cold in the room with printer?
Previous print was full plate and I didn't wipe it down with ISO first ( possibly had a piece left b hind to cause hiccup)
The table it's on (literally a board on buckets) is HELLA wobbly. This hasn't affected any prints so far but I don't really see how it's in ANY way a good idea to be on a shifty base.....
Ben on a gridfinity kick
I've gotten my desk area so gd clean and organized. It's been worth it just for that alone

Most of the items in the messy pic are still on the table. Just has a spot for it now

If you print in a cold room, you can expect the occasional failed prints. Put you a space heater in there. Keep it as warm as you can for overall better prints. When I print, I crank my thermostat to 72°. Even changing up 2° helps, trust me.

Maybe you can 3d print a whole workbench one square at a time. :)
I'm looking at printing drawers for my table now lol
May print a whole ass table but I'm not there yet lol
I still can't figure out how to do anything other than print other people's stuff
I just tried to print my first item that requires supports. Did it wrong. Instead of using the support filament it's making them out of my white.
But I was still super sleepy when I started it
(I wiped the plate down first lol )

I love that gridfinity. I bet the plate wasn’t 100% clean(you can clean it wish dish soap and water), or alcohol works too.
You really should set it on a real table not buckets sir! 😆
The workspace is looking good so far.

It’s ok to use whatever you are running as support, I haven’t used a support filament yet. Experiment with different types of support for easier removal. The trees are good, the normal “snug” is good too. There’s also the paint on support feature.

i gotta find one yeah, my tables that would fit in that room are all folding tables which are gonna be just as wobbly, I'm trying to find some scrap wood to possibly just build a solid table in the room. all of my other tables are round and old and just wont fit thru the door plus my wife would kill me lol. "WHERE TF IS MY TABLE!!!!!!!!!???"

I gotta hand it to ya. Your getting the hang of it. 🤣😝

The printer hasn't stopped for long since we got it. Haven't had any real issues other than once when selecting PLA when printing PETG. This thing was worth every penny.
mine either, it gets a few hours rest in between my sleep schedule, my wifes at home for awhile so i call her to pull parts and send another from my phone it gets like ten mins down time a day
i feel sorta bad for it honestly

If ya don’t use it ya lose it!

Oh wait maybe that was something else grandpa always talked about 😂

Yep, I know the robots kill us all in the end, I've seen the movies. BUT, for now, print my stupid toothpick dispenser robot. LOL

I have printed more silly houshold items over the years than I care to admit. Funnels, holders for various things, to this ridiculously over engineered Koolaid holder.
