I forgot to order spools!!!
I got my first bundle of filament in today and went to throw it on..... Oopsie.
But luckily for me during a call with our guy @WickedFog I learned about the usefulness of PVA and I DID order the on a spool.
Problem solved we now have a spool of pla black installed and working on another print.
I'm printing another GD spool that's what imIM printing today lol

Pics take @ 12:31 I am about to head to an appointment
And I'll check the progress then
So freaking cool
You done spooling around? 😝

1/64ish. Some are a more true 1/64 but most of them are Hot Wheels and Matchbox which are around 1/64. Aside from the large food truck and the rollback the rest of the vehicles in those shots are just the $1.25 mainline cars I've added some detail to and swapped the wheels and tires.

At this point I'm a little more analog than that and probably will be for a while. I run a couple of different types of lighting in the stuff I build. Because I'm doing these builds with photography in mind a lot of it is more like lighting in a theatrical production. My builds always have some built in lighting so they can be pretty stand-alone but lighting for shots is often filled in with lighting from a "rig" haha. It's basically my swing arm magnifying lamp that I have several different types of light attached to with magnets so I can position them where needed.

My power setup is pretty simple. I have 2 3V-24V power supplies that each have a 10 port hub. I run one at 3.15v for the majority of my lighting which is 3V. The second one runs at 12v but a couple of the ports go to USB to reduce them to 5.1V for some wireless LEDs I use. I might just make it a dedicated 5.1V power supply though because I run almost nothing off 12V these days and when I do it's usually something I need my dedicated 12V30A supply for anyway. Slow motion video takes a lot of light so I sometimes use some LED off road lights as lighting.

I do run RGBIC LED strips which are app/alexa controlled. They are part of the fixed floor lighting in this model and I have 6 overhead units too that can be attached with magnets as needed. They have quite a few patterns like lightning and fireworks effects and the sound responsive ones are fun.

It let's me do fun things like this. I was at the store this morning any had the thought to check the pet aisle for aquarium gravel because it's usually clean and it's cheaper than buying the diorama specific stuff in quantity. I instead grabbed these frosted glass pebbles. Not knowing how much I would need I went big and bought $7 worth. This is maybe 50 cents haha. It's perfect for what I wanted though.

The center stays white because there is a small 3V globe light buried there. Since this is a mockup I just ran the wires over the edge.

Wow those look great. The forced perspective really makes the cars pop. I thought they were much larger. Very cool 😎

I'm having an issue with fusion 360. I'm trying to build my own foam buster but when i try to extrude this profile from inside the cylinder it does not do it accurately. This image shows the correct extrusion:

But when i see the completed extrusion it is missing the lip right here:

ok, never mind i found out why it was doing this while i was trying to take a screen shot. i had already extruded this area with a basic cylinder, so i was expecting something i had already removed. haha, love this software though. it's amazingly capable.

@majin
So what do you think about the Bambu A1? I think I'm going Friday to get one from my Microcenter about 45 minutes away after work. They got down to 8 in stock, checked today, restock, now 25+.
i absolutely LOVE it, i still have a lot of learning to do but as far as a beginer? easier than most other things I've tried.

Never thought 3D printing would trigger my OCD on car wiring. I wanted to try a longitudinal battery mount on my sc6.2. saw some photos of others, sketched a design, made some revisions. Now I need to work on a top plate. Plan to add holes on the mounting arms. Beef up the arms too so I can adjust a bit front and back.

I'm out of filament noooooooooo!
I thought a spool would last me longer
Ordering 4 on Friday but then gotta wait on the mail lame city.
Wish someplace locally sold it
this is the dilemma of 3d printing , usally my mark to order more is when I hit 1/2 of the spool I'm using. You will also learn what filaments work better in certain situations over others. pla is a great mock and test print material cause it's cheap and easy. but there are materials that hold up better to heat , impacts, and have more flexibility than pla does.

Are you having trouble putting the spool onto your ams?? I would print out an adapter. Most cardboard spools should fit no problem, I have only had to print spool adapters for the spools that are plastic.

Disregard most of this ☝️, I read down farther.
