But a funny thing.....pepperoni has star anise in it. The first time I made homemade pepperoni I didn't put it in because I don't do licorice at all. Man that pepperoni wasn't right lol The second time I made it I included the star anise and it was damn good pepperoni

I never knew star anise is an ingredient in pepperoni.

Pho soup has star anise as a seasoning in the broth. No licoricey taste in pho.
