When Mrs. X suggested going there, I honestly, wasn't thrilled. I'm thinking it was just going to be another overpriced, typical fare northern bbq joint. I didn't indicate this, since I know she misses having none of the kids around. Just trying to be more attentive to her. Well, now, I'm super glad we found this place!
I think we'll make this a thing and just go out and explore eateries and places, just like when we were dating over 20 years ago.

Tonight was kind of a throw together. MRS. DOOM marinated the steak in Italian dressing and cooked it on the indoor grill. A quick salad and some crescent rolls.

I will just have to get by with cinnamon toast crunch crushed over vanilla ice cream. Been one of my favorite guilty pleasures since that cereal became Breydon's fav years ago.

Dinner: chicken coconut Thai curry with rice, 4 frozen Buffalo wings heated in the air fryer, a fruit smoothie, and 1 homemade Italian anise cookie made by a coworker's grandmother.

Never had an anise cookie. Does it have a licorice flavor?

....just had some chips with salsa con queso, and a hard boiled egg.

It does have a hint of licorice flavor. Funny thing is, I don't even like licorice. My In-laws makes anise cookies and pies for Christmas and Easter. Mrs. X doesn't care for either.

I hated black licorice as a kid. Love it now.
