Delicious and healthy, man that looks good.
I had Tamales again. I love them.
Tamales are great. I never learned how to make them, but have had some really good ones before. My Mexican friend said the secret to making good ones is "pig butter". Whatever the hell that is 🤪

Not currently as I just got up and "eating" coffee right now, 😁 but the last few days I've been destroying bags of this Chex Mix! Usually munch on the cheese one, but man, this one is so good!!

Sounds like good old lard.

I asked him about that, and he said you get it at Mexican grocery stores. They call it pig butter 🤷‍♂️

After finding this, I am pretty sure this is what it is...

Sounds like he just doesn't know what lard actually means. I did a quick Google on Mexican pig butter and this article came up. My family used to make lard from scratch, back in the day.

No, he knew what lard was. I asked him if that is what it was. But seeing this makes me think this is what it was. It has pork meat mixed with butter.

"While it may sound like the latest overreaching product of pig mania, this delicious pork butter recipe from chef Nathan Thurston is actually akin to classic French rillettes. But instead of slow-cooking the protein in fat, Thurston braises his pork shoulder or butt until its fall-apart tender. He then pulverizes the meat in a stand mixer and combines it with butter; the result is a delicious spread for crackers and toast."

That was in the tamales. It was fine shredded pork, sweated peppers and onions. Best damn tamales ever.

I was eating one of my favorite candy the other day, and noticed that this company is out of Indiana.
I've only seen this brand at one particular local grocery store, so it's not well known in these parts. Are you familiar with this brand? These gummy worms are like crack to me!View attachment 161087
I ordered some of these with the groceries today, except I didn't catch the fact it was a 36oz bag. So we now have enough gummy worms to choke a rhinoceros. They are really good, but opening the bag, the smell about knocked me out. Very chemical smell to them. Breydon likes the blue ones 😉

Hmm
I didn't find the smell obnoxious or even overly powerful.

I agree, anything tators just don't happen in my house, I don't get to eat tators anymore but I do cheat on my diet once in awhile.
I remember a few years ago I could shove almost 3/4 of a pizza down my neck, now I can barely get down two slices.
That's my cheat for the week.
