Any suggestions on what nitro RC car I should get? I'm a newbie but a huge fan of RC cars. Keep in mind that I am 10 and this is my first nitro.:)

What do you want to do with the car so we can get an idea of what to recommend.

It depends on what you really want. Race? beat on in your back yard? A little of both? Do you have friends that have 1 and what do they have? I would start with a simple rig like a RC10gt or maybe a Rustler. They are lightweight and pretty powerful forn the size vehicle. Good luck and stay with it!! We need more young guys in the hobby!!! Especially NITRO!!!!:)

I would say for your age an SC10 would work well for you. It is a good RC to start and grow a little with.

I would like to beat on it and something with some juice in it that I can race with my friends.

Don't forget about the most popular starter brand of traxxas. We all know they are great rigs for first timers. And you can always upgrade from stock. But if you want used you can find a much better quality rig like Hpi.

HPI has excellent customer support, not saying anyone else doesn't, but i just used HPI for some defective parts. IMO, you can't beat HPI and their support. but whatever you buy, just make sure you can get parts for it. some of those off-brand riggs can be hard to get parts for from what i hear, they just wanna sale you a rigg, but have no customer support. Hope this helps !

Never owned a HPI other than a MT2 (stay away!!) but theres quite a few guys that live by the Savage X. Many say to stay away from the 5.9 XL as the powerplant is difficult to deal with especially for a newb

Ten years old and one of the most grammatically correct and well thought out posts I've seen from a new member in a while. Good for you.

I too am a fan of the savage and the trophy truggy. Don't forget about the traxxas tmaxx, It was my first name brand rig and was a blast to drive.

Do you guys know the difference between a buggy and a monster truck? Like within speed, and how good it handles in grass or dirt jumps?

Buggy on handling and jumping all day. MT is better in grass. As far as speed that would depend on a lot of different things.

I just got a hyper 7 haven't run it yet have to rebuild first but seems like a well built buggy so far.

Traxxas nitro sport if you really want to "start out." Nitro rustler if you want to have any REAL nitro fun. Jato when your older :) lol
