ok so for the past three weeks I've been helping a guy out at his house. we been mowing raking cuting trees. some nights id stay there to get a early start well the other day id stayed the night worked all day went home at 6pm. around 9pm he calls me saying i stole his internet card from alltel (165$ for it)

i told him i didnt have it still didnt belive me so he came over around 10 the same night telling me to go pray and do the right thing and i tryied to tell him i didnt have it but he wouldnt listen. so the next morning he comes over telling me i have 2 options we can go to his house and maybe ill find it some where where he might not looked. pretty much what he was saying i want you to go put it some where and you go find it there. or he was going to call the police. i was like i can go to your house and help you find it i dont no if we will tho.

so i went to his house looked for 5min and found it in his computer bag in a pocket he didnt look in. in frount of every one but him and we go out side and says you did the rite thing its water under the bridge. so pretty much he is still saying i took it when they all but him say me pull it out of the bag.
so idk if i still want to work for him or not. so pretty much if this happend to you would you still work there

First, I wouldn't have set foot in his house again without him being right there much less looked in his computer bag..
That being said, There is no way I would work for someone that calls me a thief.. I have been robbed 4 or 5 times and connot stand a thief. If you are in a situation where you can, quit and move on..

i agree with big jilm, make sure you get paid first then quit...

I worked at a gas station when i was alot younger and they blamed me for stealing beer and tabacco so i quit...........didnt give any of it back either...lol jk.

Qaart....get you money and walk away. Jim made a good point....never with out him in DIRECT line of sight so he can see your every move would I have went back in to the house. It sucks but lesson learned. Hope you made a little bit off of the work you did.

Get what he owes you and quit the job. There's no sense in putting yourself in that position again. The guy overeacted and tried to use you as a scapegoat. You were hired to cut his grass, not eat it. Get out of that situation, for you own good.

FYI - This would be a VERY good time to actually TAKE SOMEBODY'S ADVICE.

Okay, gonna give my 2 cents here. Principle, if you are innocent like you said then I would still go to work for the guy and every day you start the morning, look him in the eye with a smile and Say "I just want you to know I didn't steal your card now lets go to work". And do this every day and maybe shoot it in there every moment you get a breath with him looking you in the eye. Keep doing this until the job is done or he fires you.... It's not like this guy is going to give you benefits or a life long job until retirement. Also, probably wouldn't use him as a reference.
