Alright guys, I've sold my hyper and I'm in the market for a new rig. I'm not in a hurry to get this new rig and I'm doing some homework as to what I want to buy. Now here is the dilemma I've read too much....I'm torn as to what to get.

MBX-5 Great ride for a good price, is it worth shelling out the extra $200 for the prospec? I'm partial to this because I like the easy tunability of the pbs

MP777 another great rig redesigned from the Kanai bugs. Again is it worth the $200 to get the SP-1 or should I wait and get the SP-2?

TTR EB4 S3 I like this thing for some reason, even tho I've never seen one in person. Some say that its weak and the chassis is problematic. Like the X5 I like the pbs

XB8 for some reason I'm just not feelin this thing, its expensive, still very new and its hard to get parts for.

Jammin hong nor hasn't proven itself enough for me to trust (all you jamin guys don't start)

Hyper 7 had one want to try something different.

I don't want to start a fight here, I just want to hear what you guys have to say. It would be nice to hear from actual experience not from what youve heard or read.

So lets hear it.

the xb8 is very nice and parts support is becomin ample. far better than kcar right now, thats in the tank. mugen vs xb8, there's ur call. if u want the best and somethin that u wont reconsider mid season or end of yr of 'needin' somethin else-those 2.

might i throw the cat amongst the pigeons in suggestin the CL1 that will be for sale likely end of june, 1st wk of july.

Mugen or XB8
Have both and I like the XB8 WAY more now
I drove a Prospec yesterday and it was set up by the local hero....had a P5.....then I ran my XB8 w/ an RG and I just could not see the "SUPERIOR" advantage his had.....this guy tuned both buggies and they were just smokin...the P5 had way more bottom than i could use on the track we were at......other than that..I pulled on him on the straight and came out of corners just behind him......
VB if you are ordering parts then Xray stuff is easy to get...I only bitch because I like to go into the candy shop and walk out w/ my poop......but nobody is breaking the ones that run down here.....well stupid stuff like screws fall out but that's all I've had really as well.....I can get you a really good deal on an MBX-5 in awsome condition if you're interested....

I'm usually about doing something different, but I can't see spending big bucks on something different that doens't take off, and there is no parts support for. If I'm going to spend 5-700 bucks its going to be a big name company that gets my cash (not that they need it)

I hear ya man....I thought the same way too....I'm going to run the XB8 into the ground...I've already geared up my pit box to support it now so I may as well stick w/ the evil I know now......next year I'll see if there's going to be a new mugen out and switch to them...just for local parts availability.....unless Xray gets a bigger following by then......

I personally have only my TTR EB4-S3 and have no complaints about it. Driven a few Kanai editions and ofcourse, the OFNA brands. I ahve yet to get close to an XB8 or Tripple 7.

What I ahve found with the ttr is that it's a nice kit and very adjustable as far as settings are concerned. Parts wise, you can get stuff from other places but Nitrhouse carries all their stuff (stock and optional) at very reasonable prices and are excellent with shipping. I am luck to have an LHS that has an account with Nitrohouse so parts are readily available or delivered within 2 days.

From what I have seen and driven, the EB4 is a good midrange to higer end performer. Much like the GS storm but on a more racer geared influence which is noticable with chassis design (a bit over engineered but still fine) as well as shock placement and the design with the arms. You can't go wrong with it and from a personal perspective I do think it offers the basher and occasional racer, the most bang for the buck.

so what is so bad about the hyper that I'm BUYING from you?? :jk: three of the guys i run with have storms and we dont race but they are some tough rigs.. make sure you get the pro chassis though...

Believe me you won't be disapointed with the hyper! I'm just looking forward, I've driven a prospec and like the way it was so predictable.

Another question. For those of you that have driven both the X5 and the prospec...Do they handle any different? Or are they just more durable?

the prospec is worth the prize as you get a lot of tuning parts as the 1piece motormount and milled rear uprights, new tank, titanium rods, towers and torque rods, latest suspensions....standard mbx5 is starting to date

if you buy a cheap/standard kit of any brand, you will end up much pricier at the end buying all those tuning parts...but it is a joy on his own, if you got the cash...

Cl-1 without real extra parts is selling 690 euro or 920.00 in europe
that's to much

as to the S3 as my best friend got one, I can say, it is a very robust buggy no breaks at all, just the original towers are just plain aluminium (budget kit)but still you can re-ply them and drives great as it is

There is nothing wrong with the TTR, is was just too stiff for some VERY rough tracks, would throw it off line from time to time, but for 95% of us it would be just fine. The XB8 is one tough buggy, and parts are cropping up all over. If you look at their touring cars, it did not take long for them to take off.

As a rule of thumb, if you can afford it, buy the better more optioned buggy. Its just like buying all the hop-ups at once for a cheaper price. Thats why the SP1,Prospec,and even the XB8 are so pricey. Any of these 3 would be GREAT rigs to have. Anyone else around you have any of these to drive? Everyone has a driving style, and one may be better for one person and not the other. That said, most of these can be "tuned" to your liking, since all 3 are COMPLETELY adjustable. The 777 does have the tighest turning radius of the 3.......

xb.8 is nice to work on
but if you have to buy again the new tuning parts of the xb8, it becomes very pricy :

new motormounts +51.00, new chassis to go with +90.00, alu front steeringblocks or rear uprights +70.00/+85.00, new soft suspensionarms +20.00, new shock shimms, front torque rod +24.00,...

I just wrote in the other thread the only thing I have changed/added in 7 gallons is the front chassis brace....and the only difference in the new chassis is an extra hole you can drill yourself in 2 mins.....or just use the Prospec engine mount.......I haven't done the mono mount yet but I know it's next on my list......the aluminum uprights to me seem like a waste.....the stock ones have yet to break on me and if theydo oh well 10 bucks vs 45.....and the front torque bar I got the kingheadz....rocks not quite as stiff as the Xray one.....and it was like 27 shipped.....I was very pleased w/ the Xray from day 1...are you finding it lacking? what are your issues w/ it?
