No bc it is not roar legal and it's cheating 
Carpet is super high grip, so your car is hooked up. You would be more better to play with steering dual rate and expo. And/or take traction out to make it more calmer. (Ie gluing sidewalls, or get a harder compound tire), and practice practice practice.

Gyros help control slides, I don't race carpet but I don't think a lack of traction is usually the issue.

Definitely not. They're not allowed for sanctioned races and generally frowned upon as a driver aid. Hard no!
Edit to add: Carpet, Astro or Dirt, it would be in contravention of the vast majority of clubs. Ditto for reverse on ESC. It's just not something that racers would want in a racing car.
The driver should drive the car. The winner should be the best driver, not the best driving aids.
