For me, depending on the engine you have, I would just buy a new engine. Sometimes, it's just better to start new. especially if it's a second hand r/c. Breaking in a new engine just lights a spark in my heart. Gotta love it. It's like Christmas all over again! Well, you have RCNT to keep you busy.
Yeah I hear ya, but a noobie breaking in a motor sometimes isnt the best thing. Not to diss or anything, but its kinda a tempramental thing, and like he said he lets the hobby shop do the work on his truck because he doesn't want to mess it up.. Although a Rc10Gt has about the most basic layout of a Rc ya can get, so its a good rig to work on and learn on. Save your dough Red and do the work yourself. It aint that hard, and to me, working on my rc is just as fun as bashing, Plus I would NEVER trust some kid, who knows jack squat and just there to make the money, at the LHS to mess with my Rc's. (yeah my LHS is kinda bad)

Understandable but sooner or later we all have to break-in an engine. When I got my first r/c, I built the kit and broke in the engine accordingto manufacterers specs (OS engine). Key thing was taking things slow and following instructions to the letter.

Just remember, don't get over your head and always do your research as well as have a temp gun when breaking in an engine. It's not a sure thing that the LHS will break in the engine the proper way. Too many self proclaimed "experts" out there working in the LHS that don't know squat. If you're lucky, like I am here, you'll be in the company of great guys at the LHS that are willing to coach you through it step by step AS YOU DO IT. Unfortunately, I didn't have that luxury when I first started out but I still got through it, at a snails pace.

As a person once said to someone I know, "You're a hobbyist now, figure it out and make it work" Welcome to the world of r/c's. It's a long road but sooner or later, we all lose our noobie stripes. Even the best of us still mess up once in a while.

yeah eventualy we all walk that line of breaking in an engine. i just broke in my new engine and 2 weeks after i got the motor it is still slowly opening up more and more.

Usually, I am a DIY guy and always trying to improve things for less. But If I let the lhs do it, I dont have to pay for parts, and they do it for free.

*about breaking in engines*
I'm a firm beliver that when you get to be an expert at something you have a good chance to screw something up because your an "expert" & lose your focus thinking you can't do any wrong

Yea, ... for the few subjects that I am an "expert" in, I have probably done that quite a few times.

alright sorry it took so long with the video and pictures I've been workin alot lately and with the added problem of trying to upload them its been hectic.
But here they are ready for viewing.

I like to fling boogers at the wall when I am bored :spit:
If you did not like that..You could always try peeing over your house!

(I do that some times when I am bored LOL

Hey, got my car back from the lhs. They said it was way out of tune. And the compression is fine. Going out to drive it now.

And btw Neogeo202, I watched that video and it is good for starters...that is like what I would do being carefull not to break anything to bad. Also...what kind of car is that? I am taking it that it is electric, being that I dont think an indoor skatepark would allow a gas car, and plus I did not see any exhaust coming out.

um and by the way it aint no electric and the exaust on the car is ran out the back of the body thats why you did not see an exaust. and what you saw was all i could get before the battery ran out on my camera. And yes the skatepark did let me run a nitro car in the park. And the doors are always open in the park so it easily vents out pretty quickly.
Now dont be so hasty assume something. check the video again and shen I'm on the wallride at some point you will se an exaust trail
