Understandable but sooner or later we all have to break-in an engine. When I got my first r/c, I built the kit and broke in the engine accordingto manufacterers specs (OS engine). Key thing was taking things slow and following instructions to the letter.
Just remember, don't get over your head and always do your research as well as have a temp gun when breaking in an engine. It's not a sure thing that the LHS will break in the engine the proper way. Too many self proclaimed "experts" out there working in the LHS that don't know squat. If you're lucky, like I am here, you'll be in the company of great guys at the LHS that are willing to coach you through it step by step AS YOU DO IT. Unfortunately, I didn't have that luxury when I first started out but I still got through it, at a snails pace.
As a person once said to someone I know, "You're a hobbyist now, figure it out and make it work" Welcome to the world of r/c's. It's a long road but sooner or later, we all lose our noobie stripes. Even the best of us still mess up once in a while.
