idk, the sound is instantly recognizable as Linkin Park. isn't it most of the original line up just with a new singer? and doesn't Shinoda kind of dictate creative direction? bands change singers all the time.

Sublime's been dead sense 1997. want to get Rome in there with a couple Sublime members, fine, but it's not really Sublime. want Brads son fronting it, fine, but its not Sublime, it's Sublime Jr.
just because you have Eric an Bud doesn't mean you have Sublime. the main creative voice is gone. both Eric and Bud have stepped out and been "filled in for" on occasion. at this point its like calling a Superformance GT40 a real GT40.
idk why they didn't just keep using the Long Beach Dub Allstars name and let the Sublime name RIP.
Sublime Jr. Bwahahaha.

I've been listening to Linkin Park since 1999. Chester was a great driving force for the band, but he was not a founding member, and he was never the creative mind that composed the music. The name of the band doesn't belong to him. I'm sure he would still be the band, today, if it wasn't for his selfishness.
Shinoda's still got it, and, personally, I like Emily's chemistry with the band.

I'm happy to know you are a tried and true fan of the band, I commend you. My son has the same view. I will plant my flag on "i don't like her voice". Can you imagine getting it to a yelling match with Emily??? Hurts my head. 🤣 like what would that sock under then bed fight be like?

I was driving for 3 hours this morning in our LC and was listening to a lot of Chris Cornell's songs.

I agree with SH and Xray here. Me (I know I'm 16) but I've been listening to LP for majority of my life. I'm guessing I've been listening to them since I was 4 or 5. Mostly because of transformers 🫠 😅 (relatable for most)
The first day their new song came out back in late 2024 I was still hesitant about it but after a week, had that thing on repeat blasting. And then when the full From Zero album came out, and the deluxe edition which added another 2 songs, added that straight to my playlist.
With them coming back I agree with Xray, it's not all about Chester, they are still honoring his legacy with their older hits at almost every concert (saw them live back in May) But not getting to the point where its too heavy...
Ex:

Plus, with them being back, it's all about returning, getting a fresh start, new era of LP. Hence why the latest album is From Zero. Not Hybrid Theory 2.0.

Also, lets put some respect for other members. The new drummer Colin, he is really good.

Playlist of my current LP favs, including the not so popular reanimation remixes:
