what better

savage (ss 4,6) or t-maxx 3,3

for speed, durability, handling, after maket part price and availability

the price dont really matter but t-maxx have reverse and savage can have 3 speed trans

i want it just for bash in my backyard and at the beach

for a basher its the savage. no questions asked.

i had a extemely hopped up tmaxx and the savage i just bought (hopped up 25 from jon2) totally destroys it in every category. I had the tmaxx 2.5 so i dunno how much better the 3.3 is.
---From my experience---
speed goes to the tmaxx (but not by alot)
durability and handling easily goes to the savage
The tmaxx reverse is glitchy at best and you CAN add reverse to a savage.

I know from talking to phyx that tmaxx parts are readily available, and savage ones aren't in canada.

I would go with the savage personnaly. I haven't had a t-maxx 3.3, but I've had a t-maxx and there are a lot of things that break on a day to day basis which gets old.

If your going to be running in sand/grass, having a truck with a BB in it will suit you better. A BB has more torque and power in general than a SB. So, for your terrain, a BB would work well.

Any thoughts on getting a savage x? It's a little more pricey, but it's a savage with a better performing setup and easier to work on.

I think the better comparason would be between the savage and the revo. Personally, i think those two are more equal, but the revo handles better. I wouldnt reccomend anyone going out and intentionally buying a t-maxx.

Do a search and you will find the consensus will be the Savage hands down. The T-Maxx just isn't as durable.

Def a savage, in all areas, and i think most spares for all HPI are pretty easy to come by.

Out of these two trucks I would say SS 4.6 hands down. They will be close in speed and handling but the Savage is tougher. Reverse is over rated even for bashing IMO, and the 3 speed is worth every penny!

I agree with SMaxxin, I have a Savage X and love it, when I drive it. I am into the Mammoth right now but I agree to the Savage being worth every penny, don't know about the 3 speed, For R/C's that would be like breaking the sound barrier. Don't have the reverse, Just something more to breck IMO.

every little option and add-on and upgrade is just something else to brake lol, but its how we enjoy ourselves and how they make there money, i only have a rush evo stadium atm, but i recon in a few mont (4-5) months, that i will be gettin on of the bigger HPI trucks, and i would only go for HPI

what is the better savage is not the ss 4,6???

revo is better than t-maxx ???

If I were looking for a Savage I would get the 4.6 x when it comes out and put a 3 speed in it.

IMO the revo is a lot better than the Maxx for bashing, racing or anything else.

The best savage to get would be the Savage X SS, but it is not out yet. For now the best one IMO is the Savage X RTR. I own a Savage X RTR and love it!

Another Vote for the Savy here. I have the .25 rtr and love it. Toughest trucks out there.

Owner of both a Savage SS 4.6 and Revo 2.5. My vote is for the Savage as a basher, no questions asked! If you can hold out until the Savage X 4.6 comes out, that'd be my choice.

yup, once again a vote for the savage. I have had mine for a while and it is very durable and great. There are some very basic upgrades that come with the car, but you have to install them. They are the 4 bevel gear mod and the cam servo saver.
