I have 2 brushless motors from a job lot. No idea if they are any good?

What ESC would you good people reccommend for each? Not too expensive....

Thanks in advance

Most ESC's will list a max kv limit, vehicle type they are designed for, and battery cell count. Some will even tell you a vehicle weight. They will also tell you if they are for brushed or brushless. So picking an ESC is not just based on the motors you want to run.

You have 1/10 or 1/12 scale brushless motors there. Hobbywing makes decent and affordable ESC's, but there are cheaper ones out there. I just have no experience with them.

Those motors typically come in a combo, and can be had cheap on Amazon and eBay, however, the combo ESC's usually fail fairly quickly. They usually come with either this ESC: https://www.ebay.com/itm/3941010364...N5EuvY8rPvDqg1Ew9|tkp:Bk9SR6ai95fdYA&LH_BIN=1 this ESC: https://www.ebay.com/itm/3542024184...QyX6FrlbD/5zMx+fN|tkp:Bk9SR6ai95fdYA&LH_BIN=1 or this one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/2848956526...n/nSkbqOv0rP/k5vwExSF5NtjK|tkp:Bk9SR_qp_5fdYA You would be better off long term with this one though: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1423851087...o8+94ulaw52aAiL0=|tkp:Bk9SR_jzgpjdYA&LH_BIN=1

Kinda depends on what you're going to put them in but Id probably suggest a Castle Sidewinder 3 or Sidewinder 4

Are they actually waterproof? The last Sidewinder i had, an original Sidewinder SCT, got wet once and fried. That was the first time i had ever seen an ESC smoke. Now, i just stick with Hobby Wing, since, out of every one i have tried, the only two i havent fried getting wet were a Hobby Wing and a Dynamite. Pretty soon, I'm going to be finding out just how waterproof a Traxxas VXL-3S is.

Castle claims they are. The original ones were not.

I dont run my stuff in wet conditions anymore so I can't vouch for them personally if thats what you're asking.
