I am looking at buying this car, already have in mind slotting my OS 18cv-rx into it. What do you guys suggest. Also is there any other cars or trucks i should look at first.

Thanks

I honestly havnt heard anyone say anything bad about them. Weither there the older versions or the new version, wveryone seems to be pretty happy with them, and think there very fun lil trucks. I do agree with Pilot though about the Savage thing though(Depending on what kind of driving your going to do). I LOVE my savage.

I have a savage and an MT2SS.
I like them both. the savage is 1/8 scale Monster truck with a big block motor(high center of gravity) and the MT2ss is a 1/10 scale stadium (although you can't race with the stadium class since its' 4wd) and has a lower cg and a small block motor.

They are different animals and drive differently. The savage is able to take most any terrain, but is prone to rollovers etc, the MT2 is nimble and responsive but can't take some of the terrain and abuse that the savage can.

Have fun making the choice. both are good trucks.

If you're going the bashing route, I would definitally take the savage. MUCH beefier and the "King of all Bashers" truck imo. This thing can take a BEATING and drive away. I've seen many videos and seen MANY savages and you can make them fast if you have the right stuff put into them. I recommend the savage.

i had the same decision, about the MT2 18ss, i ended up buying it (actually just received it last night, and stayed up pretty late last night putting it together...you just can't seem to stop putting it together, its alot of fun!)..but now that i see the savage, i kinda second guess myself, but i still think i made a fairly good decision..the only thing that does suck is that i can't run my truck with the stadium truck stock class, but I'm not sure how much racing I'm really going to be doing, probably not very much, just runing it around with a few friends of mine! Good luck with the decision, your decision should all depend on what you want to do with it!

p.s...why doesn't RPM make any hop-ups for the MT2?? Anyone that has the MT2 please tell me what hop-ups are avaliable and are a good investment, the only ones i have seen are from GPM and Powerline, which are mainly aluminum parts (and I'm not too fond of aluminum, i would rather stick with heavy duty plastic, like RPM products)! HELP ANYONE??

Hi guys,

I have read some really good reviews about the MT2 18ss and the savage. However, i would like to get the MT2 18ss because it is about $200-300AUD cheaper in Australia, about $150US but also because i have a brand new os 18 cv-rx waiting for it.

The savage i find would be an investment as i go further into the hobby. Right now, i just wanna get a smaller 1/10 scale truck. Learn more about tuning and just driving and wrenching skills, then i am going to venture into the realm of 1/8 trucks and buggys, which cost a whole lot more.

I am not likely going to race it but it might be a possibility for the future. I just want it for the speed and durabilty that comes along with the truck.

Thanks guys

I have two friends who own a MT2 .18SS. What they have found is the stock gearing is too high for bashing around. It gives the truck a very high top speed, but the engine has trouble in grass and stuff. Drop down the CB a tooth or two then the truck will have very crisp acceleration and the top speed is still very good for a little truck. Overall its a great truck, you'll love it. The first mod after gearing I would suggest is the tuned pipe, slap on a THS pipe and that .18 should give even more power. You really don't need the CV-RX, the .18SS is a very good little engine, I would give it a try before buying another engine.
