I donate to the Cure Autism Now foundation. My wife is a behavorial tharapist and seeing how bright these kids are, but they can't get it out just saddens me.

- Several Lupis related foundations (my sister has lupis)
- Local and state police and fire department charity drives (simple...they keep my neighborhood safe from both crime and fire...which in turn provides a safer place for my family to grow up)
- March of Dimes (no need to justify...they need everyone's help...they being the beneficiaries of a great organization)
- A few local children's hospitals (love my kids and love to help other kids)

Each year i donate $100 and 48 straight hours of my time to the American cancer society.

-March of Dimes (same as Skymaxx)
-American Cancer Society (neighbor passed away from cancer leaving 2 kids 14 and 9 years old)
-My Daughters and Sons school. Not really a charity but they need stuff nonetheless. (With all the cutbacks, schools need all the help they can get)
-Toys for Tots at XMas time (It's nice bringing a smile to a kids face)
-Stuff to the Childrens ward at the local hospital. Trading Cards, Comics, Stuffed Animals etc. (Same as above)
-IRS (Because they make me)
-Social Security (They are running out of money and they make me)

Toys for tots every year my workplace donates thousands of dollars worth of merch.. It is really a wonderful group to deal with.

Local Fire Dept.

I've been set on fire a couple times in my life (bad enough for a couple months in the hospital) and I can't imagine risking my own neck willingly for someone elses when fire is involved. I just really respect fire fighters.

Hey Fast - Good thread topic brother. WHen I was in College, I could barely afford to keep myself alive much less donate to charities. Every X-mas since I was 16, instead of going to the X-mas Eve service with my family, I donated my time and NRG helping to feed the homeless...it feels great.

I bark allot but I still bite. Most of my charitable donations go to cancer, MS and HIV research. I haven't given a dime to any church in a long time and I probably never will but I donate a plehtora of clothes every year to the Salvation Army and various Veteran Orginizations. I also have helped repopulate two species of rare birds on my land here in New Mexcio and it's great as I love to hunt birds but I sure as hell don't wanna c any more spcies of animals become extinct if I can help it.

The Red Cross, And the Salvation army.
They did a wonderfull job when we were doing rescue & recovery at the World Trade Center site.
I was truely amazed at the help that they provided.

Reminds me of my Grandfather in WWII. After recieving subperb care from the German Doc's from various injuries. The Red Cross was their and had various snacks and cigs etc. My grandfather was recovering form three bullet wounds and didn't have a dollar. THe Red Cross apparently pissed him the hell off as they made the troops pay for all the stuff they had and refused to let them take anything for free. My gramps would never donate a dollar to the REdCross but they do allot of good in this world.

I'm glad to see people donating to causes.
Heres my list.
Toys for tots- They kept me believing in Santa several years in a row as a young child.
American Heart Foundation- They payed our bills as a child.
Local Senior Center- Computer Products
X-Mass- direct donations to homeless (Clothing) This could be me some day.
Thanksgiving-We purchase and deliver several food baskets to personally selected family's.
And I can't forget C.A.T.S. our local cat rescue center. We got our cat there.

I refuse to give to religious charities due to personal reasons.

It doesn't matter how much you give as long as you support a cause. I like the warm fuzzies of giving anonymously.

I forgot about this guy

And Chris forgot to mention his generosity.
Kind of looks like StrechM!

Multiple childrens homes, a couple of sustance abuse programs and a childrens museum.

Childrens homes are obvious, nothing in this world is more important.
Sustance abuse, it's been erroding our society for a long time and destroying our youth.
We will see if the museum will make it off of the ground... it has great backing and funding, again anything for our youth.

I'm the one holding the sign D-WAD!

Local State Police drives for toys for kids and teddy bears for kids in the hospitals. I try to avoid giving cash to most organizations since they are only required to give 10% to the cause to qualify as a non-profit charitable organization. Most are better than that, but I never know who to trust. I have read reports in the past where some of their CEOs are drawing a staggering salary and the cause gets very little.
When I lived in New York I knew a guy who brought clothes and gloves to all the homeless in the city, so I cleared my closets annually and gave him all of last years winter clothes.
If you are in a giving mood, please give generously to the newly founded Rolex Foundation.

American Red Cross, 1k a year plus blood donations every 2 months. Figure they'll have my blood type when I do something really, really stupid...
