Pyromania was my Go-To in high school, but when Hysteria came out I was at my first USAF assignment at Holloman AFB (Alamogordo), NM. What at album - not a bad tune on the whole thing. But the first tune I heard driving away from the car lot after buying my first car (1982 Mustang) was Whitesnake - Here I Go Again.

I relive those memories all the time, since I have a biggish thumb drive in my truck with all my favorite albums and tunes on constant recirculate - I'm not a big fan of most of the new music these days.

I had an 83 with a 5.0 in it pumping out around 500hp. Thing would damn near pull the front end up, but lacked traction because the suspension was mostly stock.

Mine was just a 2.3L 4-cyl w/automatic... a 'GL' edition, complete with wire wheels hubcaps and whitewalls - I didn't get a pic of it when I bought it (no camera at the time).

But it's amazing what a set of rims & tires, window tint, louvers, blacking out the chrome window trim and a monster stereo will do for the coolness factor. I put the Tri-bar Mustang emblems on to have 'something' cool where the '5.0' would've been.

The headlight covers were actually good for 2-3mpg out on the open road. The windshield graphic was a hand-cut copy of the vinyl decal (that came with the nose bra that peeled off later) - I used a rocker trim fade-stripe kit from AutoZone to make that... then everybody wanted one on their car (made a few bucks for gas money). I primarily bought the nose bra to hide the front fender dent that came with the car, and it was handy on the long trips back and forth home to SLC, UT. I scored a trunk spoiler from an '84 model but never installed it, as I traded it in on my first '85 Nissan 4x4 after returning from Izmir - it didn't like being stored for 15 months very well.

My Mom actually wanted to buy it back from the stealership, but I would've had to co-sign for her, and probably end up making payments - since I didn't want to pay for that car twice, I talked her out of it. Still miss it... Hell, I miss all my previous cars.

Sharp looking little 4 popper!

I haven’t done one in a while, but I was really hooked on building Gundam plastic model kits for a good long while...it was a drug. It is one of the most relaxing, brain-off activities and once you get into customizing and painting, there are a lot of skills that traverse both the modeling and the RC hobbies.

My favorite build, my Pièce de résistance, took me about 3 months (not because it really should take that long, but because I have a family and have to prioritize building plastic robots pretty low on my “poop to do” list lol).

It is a Master Grade Sinanju that I completely custom painted from the frame out. I airbrushed the inner frame in different shades of metallic gun metals, all of the armor in candy purple, and hand painted all the chrome accents on the armor.

Good looking Gundam, I had a model addiction for several years. The skills definately come in handy for RC's. I still have a pretty good sized model stash. Unfortunately most of my paints have gone bad.

2007 WR250f and a 2022 TTR230. Garage was broken into and the TTR230 was stolen, spray painted and destroyed this last fall. I've been slowly working at getting it back to a good enough shape to run. Not a fan of the black graphics I bought for it, but it looks better than it did I suppose. Still pretty salty about that... Has a new exhaust and I just need to put the jet kit in, get a new chain, new tires (they rallied it on the pavement for 10 days and wore the rear tire down bald) and brakes. Thieves suck and I've worked hard to buy my toys... It's crazy people can feel entitled to other peoples labor like that.

Can't wait to get the WR out this summer... something about riding make every worry in the world disappear. It's surreal and not even comparable to an ATV. The TTR230 will be retired as a loaner bike for friends who want to come riding with me. Which it should be perfect for.

Theives suck man. But I am assuming since you have the bike back they got caught ? and hopefully p[prosecuted for the crime !!!

I agree nothing in the world beats a ride on a dirt bike. I race everyhting from motocross, to rally to hare scrambles through the yrs. My last ride was a 2008 KX450F, it was my baby. Then i got tboned about 15ft in the air. The bike that hit me, hit me right on my right foot and ankle with his number plate. This broke my foot and ankle, after 6 months in a cast learned i had to have surgery and have a 4 inch screw put in my foot and pins in my ankle. So know i can't even kick a bike without having a limp for 3 days afterwards. So i moved over to exploring the backwoods on an ATV( not as fun )

Not prosecuted. They got off Scott free, cop did an “illegal” search to get it back so any charges I would’ve pressed would’ve been thrown out in court. Sucks, but at least I got it back… it won’t be the same ever again, hence the purchase of the new to me wr250f. I was needing to go up to a bigger bike anyways, so I suppose it worked out in the end. Just wish I could sell the TTR230, but it’s so messed up I couldn’t do it in good faith.

I don’t race motor cross or anything. Mainly just trail riding and seeing the nice views!
